Atlus has recently announced three new spin-off games in the Persona series, providing sequels to their successful past spin-offs -- Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth and Persona 4: Dancing All Night.

The two games with the most information currently available are both dancing games in the spirit of the odd yet engaging spin-off of Persona 4, titled Persona 4: Dancing All NightAtlus is pulling a bit of a Pokemon with the two titles, as they are releasing them both around the same time as each other -- and each will tote a different cast, setting, and style of music similar to its respective main series game.

The games are currently titled Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night, and both games are to be developed by P Studio for the PlayStation Vita.

Then there's Persona Q2, which was also announced, and is a sequel to Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth -- a sort of cross-over game between Persona 3 and Persona 4, which played similarly to the Etrian Odyssey series.

All we have at the moment is a teaser image sporting imagery from Persona 5, and a request for us to "please wait for next information". But the promise alone has people plenty excited already. Q2 is planned for release on the Nintendo 3DS just like the original.

Below, you can watch the teaser for Dancing Moon Night:

And here you can take a peek at Dancing Star Night:

Both of the dancing titles are planned for release in Spring of 2018 while Q2 does not yet have a release date. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more information as it comes down the pipe!

Lonely Sun Developer Announces Upcoming Sequel https://www.gameskinny.com/xq9cs/lonely-sun-developer-announces-upcoming-sequel https://www.gameskinny.com/xq9cs/lonely-sun-developer-announces-upcoming-sequel Wed, 12 Apr 2017 05:06:24 -0400 Paige McGovern

It's been six months since the challenging mobile game Lonely Sun hit the App Store, and developer Rinikulous Games has just announced its sequel, Unlonely

Lonely Sun is the first game released by Rinikulous Games since its founding in April 2016. In a barren new solar system, the player is responsible for guiding potential planets through all the wonders and dangers of the universe. As the player progresses, planets grow until they are large enough to orbit the sun. To be successful, players must have concentration and a steady hand.

In Unlonely, players will guide planets once more. This time, each planet represents a different website that has supported Rinikulous Games: iFanzine, SnappZilla, Orange Bison, Indie Hangover, Indie Game Launchpad, and ourselves here at GameSkinny.

In their blog post, Rinikulous Games stated:

Unlonely, most importantly, is all about giving back. The game dev-reviewer relationship should be a two-way street. We firmly believe that it is our responsibility as game developers to do whatever we can to give back to this passionate community and always acknowledge the help and support we’ve received and still receive, especially game review sites.

Unlonely may have a beta release as early as July.

While you're waiting for the sequel to launch, read our review for Lonely Sun and head over to the App Store to buy it for just $1.99.

Second Teaser for New God Eater Project Released https://www.gameskinny.com/unb2h/second-teaser-for-new-god-eater-project-released https://www.gameskinny.com/unb2h/second-teaser-for-new-god-eater-project-released Thu, 30 Mar 2017 19:15:33 -0400 Erroll Maas

During a live stream event on March 30, celebrating the seventh anniversary of the God Eater franchise, publisher Bandai Namco released a 1-minute long teaser trailer for the next title in the series.

Although it shows no human characters, the trailer instead reveals an annihilated city and a lone Aragami. The narration also reveals that an ongoing disaster has destroyed the Fenrir organization, with only the strongest being able to survive.

In the God Eater series, your character is a member or ally of the Fenrir organization, whose job is to exterminate Aragami, frightening creatures that appeared suddenly and destroyed most of the world prior to when the first game takes place.

The most recent game in the series, God Eater 2: Rage Burst, was released in Japan on February 19, 2015, and in western territories on August 30, 2016 for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows. Additionally, those who preordered the game received a free download code for God Eater Resurrection, an enhanced port of the first game.

This new project in the God Eater series was first announced at the Tokyo Game Show in 2016. It is currently unknown what platform(s) the game will be on.

Resident Evil 7 Gets Final Teasers https://www.gameskinny.com/tpcsp/resident-evil-7-gets-final-teasers https://www.gameskinny.com/tpcsp/resident-evil-7-gets-final-teasers Wed, 09 Nov 2016 19:42:15 -0500 Timothy J. Ralston (TehMadCatter)

Resident Evil 7 is one of the most anticipated horror games of 2017, with its change of style, gameplay and major storyline changes such as characters, locations and lore, Resident Evil 7 could be the game that reshapes the Resident Evil series, and bring back the true meaning of survival horror in perfect ways.

Recently, Capcom has been putting up weekly teasers on their Resident Evil YouTube page, giving us glimpses and sneak peeks of what is is coming for the next installment. Thus far, ten teasers have been released that show players how the game works, new mechanics, and even hint to the mysterious nature of the found footage narrative.

During this election day, two more teasers debuted on their YouTube account, which were two very important teasers titled 'Shadow' and 'Aunt Rhody'.

Vol. 7 - A Closer Look

The beginning of this teaser shows Ethan walking towards a tool box, having the player pick it up and examine it. While, there really isn’t anything important in this teaser, it does showcase the “examine” element from the previous games, but to a more developed degree.

It seems that as you examine items such as boxes or cases, anything inside of the item makes a rattling sound like something was really being moved. This could help with items you have in your inventory, to see if they contain secrets inside of them.

Vol. 8 - Imagination

This teaser does show us something interesting before it shows the main concept. The location of this teaser was the same Mia was at during the Lantern demo, where Mia is being hunted by Margret Baker. This is interesting, because this could be another section of the Baker house that we don’t know, such as an underground area that was built under the house, or another area far from the house like a swamp.

Another interesting feature in this teaser is the possibility of using different items for puzzles. Now, this could be used for possible secrets or even just trying to find the right item for each puzzle.

Vol. 9 - Shadow

This teaser is one of the better ones in my opinion, since it is both the shortest and the creepiest out of the ones released. There is only one thing in this teaser, and that would be the giant monster Ethan is fighting in the possible basement of the Baker house.

This simple teaser is actually really interesting, since the monster looks oddly familiar with the Tyrant from the original Resident Evil game, mixed with the Regenerators from Resident Evil 4

Is it possible that the Baker House was built over the remains of the Spencer Mansion in Arkley Mountains, which is how the Bakers are infected with this virus? The theory keeps expanding with every plot-like teaser, showing that the T-Virus could have been remade somehow, and could make the infected more human.

Vol. 10 - Aunt Rhody

At the beginning of this teaser, we hear the tune that had marked itself into our brains the moment the song “Go Tell Aunt Rhody” was playing in the full trailer for Resident Evil 7. A soft hum as Ethan walks up the stairs from what seems to be the basement, finally revealing “Aunt Rhody”.

Now this teaser is something that isn’t as interesting, but really shows something special. The character that is seen in the wheelchair, is the same character from the second tape trailer. “Aunt Rhody”, as I call her” is silent throughout that trailer, not moving or saying a single word. Then, in this teaser, we hear her humming and slowly looking up at the player.

We don’t know if she will be an enemy, or just apart of the key plot to the story, but it seems like she will be very important to the game in some aspect.

Release Date Shown

For awhile, I have been pondering what the hidden release date could be used for at the end of each teaser. From an update date for the demo, a new trailer, or even an early release for the main game. And finally, we know what the date is for.

Early December, Resident Evil 7 will get one final trailer titled Tape-3. This also means, albeit a stretch, this could involve an update for the game showing a lot more of the house then they have given players access to.

Gigantic Showcases Tyto The Swift https://www.gameskinny.com/mr3ir/gigantic-showcases-tyto-the-swift https://www.gameskinny.com/mr3ir/gigantic-showcases-tyto-the-swift Sun, 06 Nov 2016 01:19:38 -0400 Timothy J. Ralston (TehMadCatter)

Gigantic, an upcoming game made by Motiga, is a third person MOBA game coming to PC and Xbox One later this year. When it was announced last year, people had mixed feelings over the game. While the art style looked beautiful, some said the game felt as if it would be just another MOBA that gets released every week.

But since the year and a half, a lot of opinions have changed over whether or not the game would just be another knockoff. The YouTube page had released a few teasers titled Hero Spotlights, which showcased the characters, their abilities and what they are capable of during the matches you play.

On November 3rd, the teaser clip Gigantic: Hero Spotlight - Tyto The Swift, was uploaded to Gigantics YouTube page, sparking interest for the new hero, Tyto, a Melee Assassin. During the teaser, you get to see Tyto’s abilities and combat, while also showing off the character design and swiftness the character provides.

Tyto is as swift as Melee characters get in Gigantic, from what we have seen so far, and seems like a character who could really do some damage if necessary. From attacks like Talon, Swoop, and using his companion Fang to attack enemies from a distance, Tyto seems to be what players wanted from Genji, from Overwatch.

While there is no release date for Gigantic, we can assume that the release will be before Holidays, 2016, and it will be released for PC and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 7 Gets Two More Teasers https://www.gameskinny.com/uu2tn/resident-evil-7-gets-two-more-teasers https://www.gameskinny.com/uu2tn/resident-evil-7-gets-two-more-teasers Sat, 29 Oct 2016 12:26:44 -0400 Timothy J. Ralston (TehMadCatter)

In a previous article, “Resident Evil Gets New Teasers: Who is Returning…?”, I had discussed the four teasers posted to the Resident Evil YouTube page, along with a theory that every week, Capcom could reveal more teasers until they finally reveal a possible trailer for Tape 3. And so far, I have been correct on this theory, as just recently two more teasers were uploaded.

Now, viewers have noticed that the teasers aren’t really showing anything based on the story of the game (except for Immortal as just a theory), but showcases how the game mechanics work, such as inventory, storage and saving, while also giving us some hints on the other mechanics such as possible combat and a possible new note system.

Now, as these teasers are released, we are coming closer to something much bigger being released. A possible trailer, an update to the demo, or even an early release for Resident Evil 7, though it seems like we could be getting the final update and trailer for the game.

Vol. 5 Survival

This teaser shows us the healing system, and what we could use to heal ourselves against the Bakers. We are shown a open locker which contains a box of shotgun shells and a green herb, which the player combines with a “chem fluid” item to create a “first aid med”, an item that you pour over your hand to heal you (possibly just having it on your skin could give you the healing you need).

Now this is different from the other Resident Evil entries, since originally you could just use the herb or mix it with other herbs to create something stronger to help heal you. It appears that Capcom is making the Resident Evil 7 inventory more realistic, with having the healing system a bit more complex than just eating an herb to gain health.

Plus, another thing about a realistic inventory is the limited space you have in your inventory, along with having some items taking more than one space bar, such as the shotgun you see in the inventory.

Something else that caught my attention is the quest bar in the upper left of the screen, giving you hints of what you must do to continue on. Collecting three dog heads is the only thing that we can see so far, and it does seem really unsettling, while also interesting for new puzzles.

Vol. 6 Immortal

The beginning of this teaser shows us that while it is possible to harm the Bakers, there is really no way to actually kill them. It also shows us what the combat system looks like. This teaser also shows what appears to be Jack Baker, the father of the family, after the main character shirtless. Could this be after the incident with the burning car in the Tape-2 trailer?

And while Ethan manages to gun down Jack, it takes him time until he manages to stand up once more. This could mean that you could disable the enemies in order to run away from them. This could be handy if you were to try and perform a puzzle, but were encountered by one of the Bakers.

Jack also says something when he starts getting up: “Oh, no, no, no… Now you’re gonna get it.”

This could mean two things. One, he could just be angry for being disabled and will continue his hunt for Ethan, or two, he could become more powerful each time he is down. Jack appears to be strong enough to break down a wall in order to get through, but could his strength be possessed by anger?

Theories on Date and Story

At the end of each teaser, this shot is shown by marking off each teaser as a Vol., meaning that we still have four Vol. teasers left until the big reveal. Like stated before, the big reveal could be multiple things, such as a new trailer, a new update, or as some are saying, the new release date for Resident Evil 7.

It is more likely we are to get a new trailer and update to the demo, Beginning Hour, rather than an earlier release for Resident Evil 7. What fans are expecting, is the final Tape trailer, showing the full on story trailer, along with the final update for the demo, finally unlocking of the Basement.

Another theory I had was during the Immortal teaser. It seems like Jack is hunting Ethan for something he had done. Did Ethan hurt Margaret or Lucas Baker, or was it because Ethan wouldn’t eat the food that was forced upon him? No information regarding this has been released, but it seems like Jack is enraged by something Ethan had done, making the story more interesting.

Resident Evil Gets New Teasers...Who Is Returning? https://www.gameskinny.com/t59h1/resident-evil-gets-new-teaserswho-is-returning https://www.gameskinny.com/t59h1/resident-evil-gets-new-teaserswho-is-returning Tue, 18 Oct 2016 09:58:31 -0400 Timothy J. Ralston (TehMadCatter)

Back in August, attendees at Gamescom 2016 were given the Resident Evil Lantern” demo. It showed off an additional tape through the eyes of Mia as she searches for a way out of the mysterious cabin, while trying to get away and hide from Margret -- one of the Bakers from the trailer released after the Lantern demo.

But just recently, a collection of clips was uploaded by Capcom, teasing the gameplay and possible return of a semi-popular character among the Resident Evil series. The teaser clips were arranged in a particular order -- first “Mysterious Caller”, then “Shotgun In The Box”, then “Recorder”, and finally “Stock Up”.

Let's work our way through these four teasers and unpack what we see in each of them.

Mysterious Caller

Throughout the teaser, different telephones around the house are shown, all ringing as the shots change. The character, possibly the Ethan we have heard from in the trailer and Lantern demo, picks up one of the phones. Then, the voice is heard. “You shouldn't have come here,” she says through the phone, and then the teaser clip cuts off.

Fans and viewers say that the character heard could be Ada Wong, originally introduced in Resident Evil 2. This goes along with a theory that Ada could be behind this, as it is shown that she is the only person who calls the house in the demo and teaser clip, along with finding the photo next to the phone in the Beginning Hour demo.

Shotgun In The Box

This one isn't as big as the previous one, but it does give us something that the previous games had given up over time -- the “Storage Box” in the save room.

Personally, I love this little teaser because I miss the way the storage box was set up -- and honestly, I was disappointed when it just suddenly disappeared from existence after Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. So to see the box making a return in this game definitely takes me back to my favorite Resident Evil entries.

Another thing worth pointing out is that the inventory menu from the game looks a bit different from the demo. One of the minor things I noticed was that bigger weapons take about two squares in your inventory, so it could be possible that you will have to backtrack a lot in this game, like the previous ones before Resident Evil 4.

The one thing that really stuck out to me was the player's ammunition amount has the original green number right next to it. It could just be that I had skipped over it while playing the demo, but I didn't remember seeing the amount number when I picked up the handgun bullets in the Twilight Update.

This one, like “Shotgun In The Box”, isn't really that important to those who aren't fans of Resident Evil, but really hails back to the original four games.

This teaser happens in the “Safe Room”. It's only a brief glimpse in the video, but if you look closely you can spot a storage box in the corner, a phone on the table, and a cassette player. The main focus for this room is the cassette player, which takes over the role from the typewriter fans are used to seeing.

Using the cassette player, players could save their game. But what the trailer doesn't tell us is whether we'll be able to use it whenever we want to (a la RE4), or would we have to find cassette tapes (like ink ribbons in the previous games before the fourth)? There weren't be any signs of cassette tapes in the teaser, but Capcom could be hiding that for later.

Another thing I would like to discuss about the tapes is the tape system in the upcoming game. Players and fans are suggesting that perhaps, instead of notes, we could be using tapes instead to relive what characters have experienced head on. This would be why we have Mia's tape, and the tape found in the cabinet next to the kitchen in The Beginning Hour. While this is just a theory, it would be a really interesting take on the notes system.

Stock Up

Now this teaser really had me excited for the upcoming game. It's the introduction to your melee weapon and tool, the knife.

A lot of fans  were worried about the combat of the game, since it seems like there is no real way to harm the Bakers, but it does seem like you could at least damage them. Perhaps they are taking the Remake route, where you could kill them, but they will be back.

In this teaser, you see Ethan using his knife for multiple reasons, such as breaking a box open to collect some supplies hidden away, and using his knife to open up what appears to be a taped-up fuse box. The reason why this interests me so much is the knife. The knife was introduced as one of the weakest weapons in Resident Evil: Directors Cut, but is now introduced as something that is used as both a tool and a possible melee weapon when you want to conserve ammunition.

Release Date Confirmed?

At the end of each teaser, there is a shot that shows different tape icons. Under these icons are Volume Numbers (1-4) to denote each trailer, along with the title, Resident Evil, towards the right.

But under those volume numbers is a possible release date for late 2016. Could it be a new update to the demo, or perhaps a new trailer? Could Capcom be releasing the game earlier than expected? We will never know, until the tapes are finished.

I will continue on with future tapes during my next articles, in hopes of discovering what could come to us during the ink-covered date. If you enjoyed this and want to read more, stay here at GameSkinny!

Earlier today, Rockstar Games posted what seems to be a teaser image for the much anticipated follow-up to 2010's Red Dead Redemption on Twitter. The image features the signature red and black coloring with a faded Rockstar logo. Rockstar also changed all of their avatars and banners on Twitter to match the art style.

With the release of Red Dead Revolver on PlayStation 4 last week, and this image today, it seems we have an announcement on the horizon. Rumors have circulated for a long time of another open world western game, with the game's map supposedly being leaked a while back.

Some readers will notice the map features the city of New Bordeaux, the setting of Take-Two Published, Mafia III. Take-Two has recently announced that Rockstar studios is:

"of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon"

Red Dead Redemption has a 95 on Metacritic and was many site's game of the year for 2010.

Unexpected Guests Visit the Halls of Karazhan in World of Warcraft: Legion https://www.gameskinny.com/5gc4n/unexpected-guests-visit-the-halls-of-karazhan-in-world-of-warcraft-legion https://www.gameskinny.com/5gc4n/unexpected-guests-visit-the-halls-of-karazhan-in-world-of-warcraft-legion Fri, 19 Aug 2016 17:37:17 -0400 ThndrMge

World of Warcraft: Legion is right around the corner, but Blizzard isn't done giving us teasers of new things. A new trailer that was originally teased at Gamescom 2016 has been released. Legion will see the return of the beloved Burning Crusade raid, Karazhan.

Worldofwarcraft.com describes Karazhan as follows:

The decrepit tower of Karazhan once housed one of the greatest powers Azeroth has ever known: the sorcerer Medivh. Since his death, a terrible curse has pervaded the tower and the surrounding lands. The spirits of nobles from nearby Darkshire reportedly walk its halls, suffering a fate worse than death for their curiosity. More dangerous spirits wait within Medivh's study, for it was there that he summoned demonic entities to do his bidding. However, the brave and foolish are still relentlessly drawn to Karazhan, tempted by rumors of unspeakable secrets and powerful treasures. Forge a group of ten stalwart heroes, and journey to the tower in Deadwind Pass — but be warned that only those who have achieved level 70 should dare enter.

As mentioned, players visited Karazhan once before at level 70. The home of Medivh the Last Guardian was featured in the first World of Warcraft expansion, known as Burning Crusade. They fought through its twisting halls to defeat Prince Malchezaar. Malchezaar is an Eredar Prince of the Burning Legion, the primary antagonists of the titular Legion expansion. It would seem that Karazhan's fate is heavily tied to the Legion, as they return time and time again to the empty halls of the spire.

Previously the romp through Karazhan was a mysterious and entertaining one. Right away you visit a ballroom where you would engage with ghostly party goers and enchanted silverware. You'd then pass through an opera featuring a boss that varied between a selection of different performances based on various fairy tales and stage plays. Finally you'd make your journey through the library and even play a giant game of chess against the ghostly memories of the former master, Medivh. If the return to Karazhan is anything like it was in Burning Crusade, you can expect that this trip will be worth every moment you spend there, assuming the demonic hordes don't get you first.

Akihabara is an idyllic wonderland in the heart of Tokyo that even the most jaded Japanese culture fanatic will go weak in the knees for. It is in this land of video games, anime, and maid cafes that the Akiba series takes place.

Now, Akiba's Beat is taking the series's traditional setting in a new direction: replacing the series' more adventure/character action motif with a more serious JRPG progression system and more intense action RPG gameplay.
A second promotional trailer for the game has just been released, showing off major characters and gameplay. Unfortunately, the trailer is exclusively in Japanese, so there is not much more to glean from it quite yet.

With all that said, the Akiba series is fairly niche in nature, so here's a rundown if you're new to the series: Akiba games are Japanese to the core -- and not just any Japanese, but the kind of Japanese that western shut-ins dream of. Generally, major dialogue and story is passed through a visual novel format and carries the comedic sensibilities of an ecchi (healthily perverted) anime. The games also feature a great deal of real-life shops that can actually be found in Akihabara as well, which is neat for what it's worth.

If you're looking for a goofy, action-packed RPG this year, keep your eye on Xseed games for their localization of Akiba's Beat. It will be released Q3 in Japan and Q4 in the west.

Nihon Falcom has released the newest promo video of its action RPG Ys VIII - Lacrimosa of DANA.

Voice actor Banjo Ginga, who would be very familiar to the fan of Ys series, is the narrator in the video. The promo video starts with how Adol (the protagonist) and his party arrived in the Isle of Seiren, and continues while showing Dana, who appears in Adol's dreams, and the city she lives in. Such features are illustrated through in-game animations and event scenes.

Also, the promo video includes contents such as the change of scenery, how characters move around the map, fishing, battle system, etc. Adol and Dana's EXTRA Skills and their effects are displayed in the video, too.

The official website has been updated recently, including the new information from the promotion video.

The PS Vita version will be released on July 17th, but the PS4 version will be released in 2017.

Shadow of the Eternals Teaser: A Shadow of a Good Game https://www.gameskinny.com/b4el5/shadow-of-the-eternals-teaser-a-shadow-of-a-good-game https://www.gameskinny.com/b4el5/shadow-of-the-eternals-teaser-a-shadow-of-a-good-game Wed, 25 May 2016 06:33:08 -0400 Allyson La Jeunesse

You might be wondering what Shadows of the Eternals is. Why, it's none other than the spiritual sequel to a game called Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem -- a classic Lovecraftian adventure from Silicone Knights featuring the beloved "Sanity Meter" that caused so many fun little effects in your game as you were in the middle of fighting eldritch monsters and abominations of nature. (Like the game pretending to have you explode when using a healing spell in dire straits, only to reverse it a moment after!)

This game was loved by many people, despite it not being a massive commercial success, and fans of it have been clamoring for a sequel or spiritual successor, for ANYTHING, for years now. After several crowdfunding failures and a legal dispute that killed Silicone Knights, we got a sort of demo in 2013.

Now in 2016, 3 years later, we've finally gotten a teaser trailer for spiritual successor Shadow of the Eternal from Denis Dyack's new company, Quantum Entanglement Entertainment. And it's nothing but recycled footage and assets from the demo they showed us in 2013. All of it. They don't seem to have actually shown us anything new.

I, for one, would love to believe that it's actually finally coming to us some time soon, because I'm a massive fan of anything Lovecraftian. But given their history when it's come to these games, I'm not going to hold out any hope. Until they show us something more, I refuse to believe we're any closer to the game.

"You woke me up for this?"

Yesterday, Eidos Montreal released the latest trailer for the upcoming action-stealth game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The trailer is narrated by the game's protagonist Adam Jensen, and shows off the features of the game along with some of the locations players will be able to visit.

What is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an upcoming action-stealth game developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. It is the sequel to the 2011 title Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The player takes on the role of Adam Jensen, a mechanically augmented soldier.

The game takes place in futuristic Prague, where Jensen is hunting down a terrorist group of augmented humans. The game allows for the player tackle situations using combat, hacking, stealth and social interactions.

Rebuilding the hype

After a controversial pre-order system, along with a six-month delay from February to August 23rd, hype for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided took a bit of a slump. There is no mistaking the release of the latest trailer is to rebuild the hype for the game. The trailer shows off the many features that the game is going to have -- new augmentations, places players will be visiting, how players actions can affect the outcome of encounters, and more.

It would seem that the trailer has indeed done its job. Fans have taken to the comments on the trailer and Steam announcement page showing their excitement for the game. With everything, that is shown in the six minute and sixteen seconds video; you can't blame them for getting excited.

The game looks smashing

Eidos Montreal has done a fantastic job with the latest trailer. It gives a wonderful insight into what the game has to offer and what players can expect to experience. The graphics are stunning, and the new augmentations look amazing.

That of course, is not including the awe-inspiring scenes and sights that the player gets to visit throughout the game. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is looking like it is going to deliver on all the promises that the developers have placed on the table. August 23rd really can not come soon enough.

Square Enix confirms mobile-only Valkyrie Profile game with teaser trailer https://www.gameskinny.com/goyww/square-enix-confirms-mobile-only-valkyrie-profile-game-with-teaser-trailer https://www.gameskinny.com/goyww/square-enix-confirms-mobile-only-valkyrie-profile-game-with-teaser-trailer Fri, 15 Apr 2016 05:42:08 -0400 Scott Simpson

Square Enix recently announced they would be returning to the Valkyrie Profile series with Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin, and have since released a short teaser trailer which confirmed that, as suspected, the title will be a mobile game.

Details are scarce at this stage, but we do know it will be an RPG like its predecessors, that the story will take place before the events of the first Valkyrie Profile, and that Motoi Sakuraba will return to compose the soundtrack. The game is set to see a release in Japan within the Spring 2016 window, although a concrete date or a window for other regions has yet to be announced.

Given the series' following, this latest announcement will likely get a mixed reception. On the one hand, news that the series will be getting a new entry will excite many; however, some are likely to be disappointed by Square Enix's decision to make the title a mobile game. Of course, it could be the case that Square Enix is simply trying to gauge interest in the franchise, with a future console or handheld release planned should it do well.

Valkyrie Profile became something of a cult classic with its release on the original PlayStation and received high praise for its unique turn-based combat system, heavy narrative themes, and its successful fusion of RPG and 2D side-scrolling plaformer elements. It has since spawned two sequels and received an enhanced port on the PSP.

You can see the teaser trailer for Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin below. But unless you speak Japanese, you probably won't get much out of it.

What are your thoughts on the announcement? Excited to see a new Valkyrie Profile game being released? Think releasing it solely on mobile platforms is a bad move? Let us know in the comments below.

Is 2K Teasing an Official Announcement of BioShock: The Collection? https://www.gameskinny.com/5a24e/is-2k-teasing-an-official-announcement-of-bioshock-the-collection https://www.gameskinny.com/5a24e/is-2k-teasing-an-official-announcement-of-bioshock-the-collection Thu, 14 Apr 2016 08:38:57 -0400 MrDanielPrice

The BioShock series of first-person shooters are set to get a current-gen remaster, dubbed BioShock: The Collection, if recent rumours are to be believed.

A recent teaser on Twitter seems to suggest BioShock: The Collection is real and that publisher 2K plan to officially unveil the game soon. Here’s the tweet in question:

Rumours originally sparked around South African retailer Raru’s online listing for a game titled “The BioShock Collection”, set to release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game’s apparent release date of November 27, 2015 has since passed, suggesting it was possibly just a placeholder and that the listing was not intended to go live. The supposed current-gen remaster will presumably include all three last-gen BioShock titles: BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, remastered for current-gen consoles.

Rumours solidified, however, as the Brazil Advisory Ratings Board rated the unannounced game M for Mature, stating it to be releasing for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, in addition to their current-gen counterparts.

While the latest title in the critically-acclaimed series, BioShock Infinitewas released only three years ago, fans will surely appreciate remastered versions of all three games in one awesome collection.

We’ve reached out to 2K UK and will update this article should we hear back.

Titanfall 2 teaser trailer released, worldwide reveal slated for June 12 https://www.gameskinny.com/8cxck/titanfall-2-teaser-trailer-released-worldwide-reveal-slated-for-june-12 https://www.gameskinny.com/8cxck/titanfall-2-teaser-trailer-released-worldwide-reveal-slated-for-june-12 Mon, 11 Apr 2016 10:58:06 -0400 Scott Simpson

Respawn Entertainment has released a short teaser trailer for the much-anticipated Titanfall 2, and confirmed that the game will be multi-platform this time around, with a worldwide reveal for the game scheduled for June 12.

This will come as welcome news to both fans of the original game and PlayStation 4 players, who missed out on the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning Titanfall due to it being an Xbox and PC exclusive.

While the original game was a multiplayer first-person shooter which had players running along walls and piloting giant mech-like "Titans", the sequel looks to not only improve upon the competitive multiplayer action, but also include a full single-player campaign.

Speaking of their plans for the single-player campaign in an interview with Forbes back in February, lead writer for the game Jesse Stern had this to say:

"...we are doing our best to deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space. We imagined the next generation of immigrants moving out to the new frontier of an inhabitable planet. Rather than taking a traditional sci-fi approach to that we wanted to look at how that would happen practically, what the ships would look like and with machines that were designed for excavation and construction , demolition and working the land, and what happens when they are turned into instruments of war.

“What inspires us is the junction of technological advancement with the inevitability of conflict and war and what the next war might look like. In Titanfall 2 there will be a lot of [scenes] where science meets magic, but keeping it grounded and dirty and human and real.”

In the same interview, Stern also announced that the studio had partnered up with Lionsgate TV to create a TV series based on the game, which one can only assume will coincide with the game's release.

It seems the studio are really devoting themselves to creating a memorable single-player experience and aren't content to just tack-on a single player campaign, something that seems to be all too common with other first-person shooters where focus has clearly been set on the multi-player aspect of the game.

Hey! You got a bit of Halo in my Killer Instinct! https://www.gameskinny.com/dp062/hey-you-got-a-bit-of-halo-in-my-killer-instinct https://www.gameskinny.com/dp062/hey-you-got-a-bit-of-halo-in-my-killer-instinct Sun, 31 Jan 2016 05:37:38 -0500 shox_reboot

That's right. One of the most iconic characters of the Halo franchise is joining the roster of Killer Instinct Season 3.

To be honest, I'm surprised it took the developers so long to do something like this; especially considering how many fans had been asking for it. Since other fighting games like Mortal Kombat X have pulled iconic characters from movie franchises, this seems like a natural move...unless it's some sort of troll. (I really don't think it is.)

There isn't much to take away from the teaser, although we can expect the Arbiter to be wielding the Energy Sword and/or the Carbine in fights. We'll just have to wait and see if there will be more guest characters pulled in from other gaming franchises. But for now, this is more than welcome news for fans of Killer Instinct and the Halo series alike.

If you're a fan of both -- well -- this is a match made in heaven, right?

Heroes of the Storm teases two new heroes using only their voices, here are the fan theories https://www.gameskinny.com/cx762/heroes-of-the-storm-teases-two-new-heroes-using-only-their-voices-here-are-the-fan-theories https://www.gameskinny.com/cx762/heroes-of-the-storm-teases-two-new-heroes-using-only-their-voices-here-are-the-fan-theories Tue, 19 Jan 2016 11:22:30 -0500 David Fisher

It's that time again! Blizzard Entertainment's Heroes of the Storm team has released a teaser for the next two heroes looking to join the game's roster. The catch? We only get 5 seconds of voice clips for each character.

Found on the official Heroes of the Storm Twitter page, the following clip was released earlier today:

In it we hear two voices: one female, and one male. Already, fans are madly tweeting which characters they believe the two voices are. So far, the fans have come up with the following theories...

For the male character we have (original game voice samples included):

As for female candidates, fans have come up with:

We won't be able to get a sure answer of who is behind the voices until the Heroes of the Storm team releases it, but so far the guesses fans have made don't seem completely outlandish. It's also a bit tough to guess since the lines don't seem particularly character-driven.

Which characters do you think are hidden behind the voices? When do you think we will have our answers? Do you think Blizzard should be spending more time fixing the game than releasing more characters? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
