Well those are the games on the ps4 that I found to be the most scary to me. And If you decide to play these hopefully you would agree with me.

Many games deserve to be on this list, but the reason I chose these is because me and many people I know have played and enjoyed these horrifying games.

Now it's time to ask yourself, "what games have I played that gave me the creeps?"

Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation is a game which will have you peeing yourself with fear. It is all about hiding, sneaking, and very little about attacking. When this alien is on the hunt for you it would be wise to stay in cover before you suffer a horrible death.

Out of all of the  games on this list, this is the one that give me chills while hiding. You have to be quiet and smart if you want to play this game right. The scariest part of this game is the suspense. You never know if you're going to make one quick mistake and then suffer the consequences when the Alien finds you.

If you are thinking of adding Alien: Isolation to your collection then I would advise you to have an ambulance for when you have a heart attack.

Alien: Isolation made it into the top horror games ever made and got great reviews around the board too. If so many people love this game then it obviously deserves to be on this list.

The Last of Us

Even though The Last of Us is not the scariest game that you can find, it is jaw dropping. This game has an amazing story to it and has some jump scares in it that will cause you to throw your controller across the room.

The scariest part of The Last of Us is those damn clickers, they love popping out of nowhere and are pretty tough for something that can't even see. I enjoyed this game a lot, and the best part is that even at the scariest points it's still so fun.

It keeps you on the edge of your seat while you're going through the dark trying to figure out what to do and where to go. This game has amazing lighting and the environment alone make The Last of Us worth playing.

If you play this game then you will have a great time, and the story has a decent length to it too.

The Last of Us was also really popular from the fans. It even got so popular that Naughty Dog remastered it for the PS4. So just think to yourself is this a game I see myself playing? Yes!

Until Dawn

Until Dawn has you making crazy choices that can affect the entire game. It has you making decisions like cutting your arm off, or trying to get out the bear trap while a psycho is trying to kill you -- better act fast if you want to survive.

The best part of this game is as you are doing everything so quickly, it adds a certain fear that none of these other games on this list have. Plus this game has a pretty cool story to it, and the killer in this game is pretty disturbing looking. Watching him coming after you makes you wanna bite your nails and start shivering.

The only thing is Until Dawn is kind of short. But if you're looking for a fun and scary game to pass some time, then this is the game for you.

The most enjoyable thing about until dawn is 'the' plot twist and the different kind of clues that you end up finding throughout the game. Until Dawn received many good reviews, and I am very happy I got the chance to play it.

The Evil Within

Not only is The Evil Within one of my favorite games, it has the most epic prologues you will ever play -- with it's fast paced running and suspenseful hiding.

The Evil Within has you trying to escape some of the most psychotic things you will only see in your nightmares. There are a lot of jump scares in this game but these are not the scariest things. That would be home compared to the constant fear that comes from thinking the killer is right next to you. The worst part is most of the time you have nothing to defend yourself against them.

If you have never played this game, and you want something scary and challenging, then I recommend this to you. It may cause you to have nightmares but you will enjoy The Evil Within.

One of the things that I noticed in this game was the scenery, because the details inside every little thing is amazing. While this revolves around a lot of organs and blood, whoever is playing The Evil Within will see that this amazing detail makes everything look alive.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

The Resident Evil franchise has always had a scary feeling to it. But this one is by far the scariest, with its jump scares and crazy looking creatures that will give the devil himself nightmares.

I have always been a Resident Evil fan (my favorite being 4) but Resident Evil 7 is different than the rest. This one has changed the way the fans will play Resident Evil forever.

They did add stuff that makes it seem like the older ones which I thought was great. For example they put a similar system to the older games with how you combine things in the inventory. But they also added a new psycho kind of feeling to the game. It's a lot more gory and twisted than the rest.

Resident Evil 7 has you staying focused on something, then little do you know it was all a distraction for something a lot scarier.

Even though I love the oldies, I like the direction they went with this new installment of the franchise, and I'm sure you will too. So, you have to ask yourself what is next for the Resident Evil franchise?

The PS4 has already seen it's fair share of scares, in only 3 years it has become home to some of the best horror games around.

And who doesn't like having a bit of a scare now and then? Well these are the games that are more than just a bit of a scare. These games will have you sweating and panting hoping you don't die.

This article will show you some of the worst places and worst positions to be in as a human being. Luckily for you you're on the other side of the screen. Lets hope it stays that way.

So, what are the 5 Jaw Dropping Horror Games on the PS4? Read this article and you will understand why I chose these gruesome, gory, and horrifying games.

My eyes! The most terrifying things made in virtual reality, so far. https://www.gameskinny.com/z8r2e/my-eyes-the-most-terrifying-things-made-in-virtual-reality-so-far https://www.gameskinny.com/z8r2e/my-eyes-the-most-terrifying-things-made-in-virtual-reality-so-far Tue, 08 Sep 2015 20:02:45 -0400 The Soapbox Lord

Virtual reality is upon us. What was once the realm of science fiction and movies from the 80’s is now a reality with a lot of steam behind this hype train. With the success of the Oculus Rift being bought by Facebook for $2 billion and Sony entering the ring with Project Morpheus, it seems virtual reality will be here to stay. Of course with any new technology comes the strange, creepy, and flat-out terrifying things which accompany it. Here are thirteen of the most noteworthy attempts so far.

Many people are scared or unnerved by spiders. Arachnophobia! seeks to help people suffering a fear of our eight-legged friends by immersion therapy, an ever-increasing exposure to spiders until you are uncomfortable. The spiders aren’t the most lifelike or convincing, but the idea is a solid and interesting one. While this may not be terrifying to everyone, there are those who will be queasy watching this video.

Ah space. So beautiful. So majestic. So quiet. So damn terrifying. If you have ever seen Apollo 13 or Gravity or read The Martian, you know how scary space can be. Space is uninviting and uninhabitable to humans. While there’s nothing much to this game right now besides floating around Earth and encountering the International Space Station, the very idea of floating haplessly in space is alarming. Just wait for the inevitable Sandra Bullock, Kevin Bacon, and George Clooney DLC.

You march up the platform to the sound of a jeering crowd. You look out at the crowd and see cheering and jeering in equal abound before being struck in the face by a foul-smelling tomato. As the tomato drips off your face, you see it. The guillotine. The dreaded guillotine. You are forced to kneel on the platform and place your head on the chopping block. Over the sound of the crowd, you hear the blade and watch as you tumble into a basket, staring at your headless body.

This is now a game! Have fun!

Have you ever wanted to play a game where you walk across a plank stretched across two buildings while the wind howls and whips at you? Well I have the game for you! Inition has worked on Oculus Rift games in an effort to churn your stomach. Judging by the reactions in this video, I think they accomplished their goal. Just remember, don’t look down.

The Deep

Remember the classic scenes in Jaws where Hooper is in a shark cage and the shark attacks the cage? Didn’t it absolutely scare the hell out of you the first time you saw it? Well now you can experience the feelings Hooper did in the comfort of your own home! The Deep looks to place you in a shark cage exploring the mystery and beauty of the ocean, complete with shark attacks!

So imagine the jump scares of Five Nights at Freddy’s with the added depth of virtual reality. That is essentially 11:57 in a nutshell. I’m not a huge fan of the Freddy’s franchise. I find it a bit shallow and too predictable to retain my interest, much less scare me. With that being said, I imagine the legion of fans of Freddy Fazbear will flock to this title.

BUTTS is an already terrifying animated short available to see on Youtube. The added dimension of virtual reality makes this bamboozling short more confusing and terrifying than it was before. If you dare, you can have nightmares by watching!

Black Mass

Black Mass is an upcoming film project in development for VR platforms. The film places the viewer in the shoes of a kidnapped victim at the less-than-friendly intentions of a cult of some kind. The film takes heavy inspiration from the satanic moral panic from the late 80’s and early 90’s to create some tense moments and disturbing images. The only video I managed to find is unfortunately short and mostly a reaction video, but it is enough to get the gist of the film.

You can find the movie for download here. Watch at your own risk.

The Kitchen

The Kitchen is a Project Morpheus demo being developed by Capcom. While only a demo, The Kitchen has made quite an impact. While Capcom has kept a lid on screenshots and videos, there are plenty of reaction pieces of people after experiencing The Kitchen. The game seems to have the player tied to a chair while unspeakable horrors occur around them. You can read a very NSFW walkthrough of the demo here and here. Only time will tell if this demo will become a full release or ever see the light of the day. For now though, my interest remains thoroughly peaked.

Summer Lesson

Another Project Morpheus demo, Summer Lesson is different from the preceding entries in its form of horror. While the entries before focused on traditional horror (or in the case of BUTTS, surreal, bizarre horror), Summer Lesson is creepy on a completely different level. It is essentially a voyeuristic simulator. Creepy indeed.

Summer Lesson has seen two variations thus far. The first found the player with a Japanese schoolgirl (because what else?) who looks decidedly underage.

The second incarnation focuses on a young adult/teenager who wants a music lesson it seems.

The demos are made to show facial animations and to demonstrate how players can interact with a character in a virtual reality game. While nothing illicit or sexual takes place or is hinted at, the demos still revolve around players interacting with what appear to be underage women. It’s a creepy experience, and you can already imagine where things will go from here…

Among the Sleep

Among the Sleep was an interesting horror game released back in 2014 (insert shameless plug here!). The game put the player into the shoes of a terrified toddler seeking to investigate strange noises in your house. The horror comes from experiencing the world through the eyes of a child who is inexperienced with the world. Things familiar to adults and older people takes on a whole new light when viewed through the eyes of a two year old toddler.

The already intimate nature of the game and the horror is more immediate when played in virtual reality. If you are interested in virtual reality horror experiences, this is one to check out. If you can bear the insufferable personality in this video or rather mute the guy, you can see some of the game in action below.

There’s something intimate and cozy about a dungeon: the cold brick; the over-whelming darkness; the countless murderous beasts who seek to murder your face. It’s a pleasant experience! Dreadhalls seeks to place the player in the shoes of an unfortunate soul trapped in one of these dungeons hunted by some dastardly demon-like creature. It’s basically Amnesia in a dungeon with virtual reality. Cue the nightmares and glut of YouTube screamers and reaction videos.

Sanic 06

I’ve saved the most terrifying and horrible game for last. I find myself at a loss for words with this unspeakable atrocity of gaming. It is utterly horrifying to behold the misshapen Sonics which inhabit this universe. Their unending quotes pulled from your memory of the Sonic games of old while collecting rings which look wrong. Worst of all, it is set to the creepy and enjoyable music of Green Hill. This thing will haunt your nightmares. Hell, this would terrify Cthulu.

At least Sonic Team never created anything this terrifying and awf-…….

I give up…

A Horror Game That Will Make You Fall Out of Your Seat - A Review of Outlast https://www.gameskinny.com/n0u8p/a-horror-game-that-will-make-you-fall-out-of-your-seat-a-review-of-outlast https://www.gameskinny.com/n0u8p/a-horror-game-that-will-make-you-fall-out-of-your-seat-a-review-of-outlast Mon, 04 Nov 2013 20:13:52 -0500 Caden Moniz

On September 4th, Red Barrels released Outlast on Steam for $19.99. It is currently only available for PC, but later on next year it will be available for PS4. Outlast takes place in Mount Massive Asylum, a closed asylum that's secretly open on the inside. Your character is a reporter investigating for a field report and manages to enter the asylum, which eventually leads to a chain of horrible events.

Graphics: Outlast delivers a terrifying environment, developed by the Unreal Engine 3. For being a survival horror game, the graphics are stupendous compared to others.

Gameplay: The gameplay on Outlast is smooth and user-friendly. Using simple PC game controls, the game doesn't stray too far from other games. Unlike most first person horror games, when you look down you can actually see your body. The movement is fluid and the controls overall are great.

Horror Factor: The most of you came here to probably see how scary Outlast truly is. And I have to say, it really packs a punch. With enemies gruesomely detailed, you can see their terrifying faces clearly. With jump scares and fast-paced chases, the game doesn't fail to deliver a scary experience. This game is recommended for horror game veterans, but if you're a newcomer, don't be afraid to delve right in. I'll say right now that the game is scary enough to make me quit out of fear. 10/10.

Storyline: The story is unique and clever, and once you beat the game you'll feel rewarded. The voice acting is spot-on as well. The game offers over 5-6 hours of gameplay, depending on how you play it.

Summary: Outlast is a must-have for any horror game fanatics out there. I personally think that it is scarier than Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but that's just me. If you want a truly terrifying experience, then go get your copy of Outlast now!
