Nintendo of Europe recently posted an ambiguous Tweet which may have hinted at more Mario Kart 8 content coming soon.

In addition, there appears to be a picture of racers crashing on the Mario Kart 64 track Kalimari Desert. With E3 on the horizon, it is no surprise that Nintendo plans on making big announcements soon. Maybe it will be the hidden track that was recently discovered.

This Tweet may hint that Nintendo is planning on adding more retro stages for players to race on. Kalimari Desert was also remade for Mario Kart 7, so it may point to Nintendo bringing back popular maps.

The latest DLC for Mario Kart 8 was released in April 2015 where Nintendo added a new mode, 200cc, to increase the difficulty level of gameplay. Prior to that, Nintendo added new characters, tracks and karts, so only time will tell if Nintendo will add even more new content.

Hopefully, they will add a "death stare" for each character.

NES turns 30: Happy Birthday! https://www.gameskinny.com/onfh6/nes-turns-30-happy-birthday https://www.gameskinny.com/onfh6/nes-turns-30-happy-birthday Mon, 19 Oct 2015 10:17:09 -0400 tobes325

The Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES as it is more commonly know, reached a milestone achievement over the weekend. October 18th, 2015 marked the console's 30th birthday in North America.

The NES launched with 18 games in North America, featuring the most extensive launch lineup considering Japan got 3 titles and Europe got 8. I was born three years after the console launched, and my parents were kind enough to buy me and my brother a NES; this was the catalyst that started my love affair with video games.

I have great memories playing the console; I used to sit in my dining room with my old fashioned box television playing the likes of Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt; another one of my favourites was Kickle Cubicle. I can't quite believe it is 30 years old already. It's amazing to see where Nintendo have gone over the years from their handhelds to their home consoles, and they've managed to keep a steady fanbase throughout.

Sony also tweeted the console giants marking this special occasion thanking them for 'paving the way', there may always be those console wars between the big guns, but it is nice to see that support can come from rivals too!

If you never got around to playing on the NES you can still pick up quite a few gems from the '80s/'90s on the eShop for Wii and Wii U. Graphically they're pretty basic compared to todays standards but it's always good to gain some perspective of where it all began! Duck Hunt is not quite the same without your trusty red lightgun, but the Wii remote is a worthy substitute.

Bungie Launches Another Destiny Iron Banner Event By Mistake https://www.gameskinny.com/isznq/bungie-launches-another-destiny-iron-banner-event-by-mistake https://www.gameskinny.com/isznq/bungie-launches-another-destiny-iron-banner-event-by-mistake Tue, 04 Nov 2014 10:32:09 -0500 AJ_Labate

The Iron Banner has returned to Destiny, albeit as a mistake and only for an hour earlier this morning.

Bungie has confirmed via Twitter that today's Iron Banner event was launched by mistake, and that it was the old version without the new tweaks they promised with the next Iron Banner event.

In the tweet, pictured below, the developer points out that information regarding the new and improved version is going to be released to the public very soon.

The event accidentally went live early this morning, presumably during the weekly reset, but was quickly pulled down within a few hours. All of the Iron Banner bounties are gone, the back area of The Tower is closed and Iron Banner is no longer available to select from via orbit.

It appears that the Iron Banner event started ahead of time, before it was ready with new tweaks.

For any gamers who are unfamiliar with the event, Iron Banner is a special competitive multiplayer event in which player damage and armor ratings play a huge role in the PvP format. Normally within the game's Crucible mode, player levels and armor ratings are scaled and thus a non-factor in order to create a level playing field. Iron Banner let's players gain every benefit from their hard-earned gear.

During the first event, held from October 7th through the 14th, many players complained that high level characters did not have enough of an advantage. This newly patched Iron Banner promises to make significant changes to the way the event caters to the hardcore high-level players.

So keep your eyes and ears open for any news regarding the next Iron Banner event and remember Guardians, Legends are forged in battle!

New Mario Kart Racers Start Engines in New DLC https://www.gameskinny.com/j95cm/new-mario-kart-racers-start-engines-in-new-dlc https://www.gameskinny.com/j95cm/new-mario-kart-racers-start-engines-in-new-dlc Tue, 26 Aug 2014 16:50:10 -0400 Chris_Lemus

The Mario Kart 8 race track pole will light up with more racers from new DLC, Nintendo UK Store announced. But this time, they will not all be coming from the Mushroom Kingdom.

In addition to new racers being featured in two new add-on packs, Nintendo will also include vehicles and two new cups with four courses on each DLC.

Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 will allow players to choose characters such as Link from Zelda, Tanooki Mario, and Cat Peach. They can also select from four extra vehicles racing throughout eight courses. One of those go-karts will be F-Zero’s Blue Falcon.

The second pack will be released in May and includes Villager, Isabelle, and Dry Bowser, bundled with the same amount of vehicles and courses as Pack 1.  Some of the courses forthcoming will take racers through settings in The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing.

Nintendo’s announcement comes days after they were on the receiving end of Ubisoft’s Tweet expressing their opinion on the Mario Kart 8 Mercedes Benz DLC. Ubisoft eventually deleted their tweet warning Nintendo their replica european models would “ruin” the magic, and apologized for their remark.

Sorry! Ubisoft Apologizes for Mario Kart 8 Tweet https://www.gameskinny.com/zs0xp/sorry-ubisoft-apologizes-for-mario-kart-8-tweet https://www.gameskinny.com/zs0xp/sorry-ubisoft-apologizes-for-mario-kart-8-tweet Sun, 24 Aug 2014 18:31:33 -0400 Chris_Lemus

Mario Kart 8 made news when Nintendo announced a Mercedes Benz DLC earlier this month, and now developer Ubisoft is apologizing after expressing it’s opinion directly to the makers of Mario’s racing game on Twitter.

The tweet was eventually taken down and replaced with an apology.

“Sorry about that,” their tweet reads. “The expression does not in any way represent those of Ubisoft. It’s been deleted."

It is currently unknown if Ubisoft’s Twitter was compromised in any way.

The tweet was referring to the Mercedez-Benz vehicles included for players to race in who have the DLC. Those vehicles include a W25 Silver Arrow kart, the GLA kart and the 300 SL Roadster. Unlike the comical go-karts typically included in the series, these vehicles are grey and appear as realistic replicas.

The tweet follows a week of news connecting Ubisoft to Nintendo. Despite Ubisoft Europe’s director Alain Corre going on the record predicting Super Smash Bros. for Wii U could become a popular title during the holiday season, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said his company would not release any more mature rated games on Nintendo’s Wii U console. Guillemot sites a lack of sales from mature rested titles such as Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs when created for Nintendo consoles.

2K Teases New Bioshock Announcement https://www.gameskinny.com/4jti6/2k-teases-new-bioshock-announcement https://www.gameskinny.com/4jti6/2k-teases-new-bioshock-announcement Fri, 25 Jul 2014 07:35:14 -0400 Yasmin Curren

Being a massive Bioshock fan I was sad to see Irrational Games shut down earlier this year, but remained positive about what Ken Levine and his team of 15 people at 2K would bring to us in the future.

However, their tweets from the 24th of July took us by surprise, exciting us with images from Rapture; the world we thought we had said our goodbyes to!

2K's international Twitter account teased fans with two tweets of the same image; a raunchy 'adults exotic dancing venue' called Eve's Garden, which some people may remember from exploring the vast world of Rapture. The first tweet simply read '#Discuss', and the second, "Oooo, what COULD this mean?!" What flirts!

Eve's Garden is found in Fort Frolic in Bioshock, where you encounter the ghost of Jasmine Jolene, the most well-known performer of this adult club as well as the former mistress of Andrew Ryan. It can also be explored within Bioshock 2's multiplayer mode.

So what is the meaning of these tweets? I'm afraid I'm just as clueless as you are. Perhaps it's hinting towards the definite make of a Bioshock game for PlayStation Vita, or maybe they simply aren't ready to put Rapture to rest yet.

All I have to respond to this is: #somanyfeels!
