This weekend is the 10th year anniversary for Kalypso Media, and to commemorate this anniversary, Kalypso is offering a sale on all Kalypso titled games.

Some of those games are really good and worth mentioning, so here are some games we recommend in this weekend sale:

Tropico is a city-builder sandbox game that has some comedy elements in it.

There are 5 games currently in Tropico series. While Tropico 5 is the newest Tropico game and has the best graphics between all the other ones, it isn't the top rated one on Steam. In fact, Tropico 4 is the best rated game in the Tropico series. It is currently available for $3.74.

Jagged Alliance: Crossfire & Jagged Alliance - Back in Action

Jagged Alliance is one of my favorite game series. It is a turn-based tactical game that has some RPG elements in it. You control a group of mercenaries and your object is to take some key locations in the map to win. While Jagged Alliance: Crossfire, and Back in Action are not considered the best games in the series, they are the only ones in the sale right now. Crossfire is currently $7.49, and Back in Action is $2.99.

More game worth mentioning include:

The sale ends Monday, August 15th at 10AM PST.

Weekly Weekend Round-Up: Jan. 23rd- Jan 25th https://www.gameskinny.com/1ovll/weekly-weekend-round-up-jan-23rd-jan-25th https://www.gameskinny.com/1ovll/weekly-weekend-round-up-jan-23rd-jan-25th Fri, 23 Jan 2015 16:00:21 -0500 Eric Nicolai

With another five days of work behind most of us, we've got two days and three nights to do what we want. So let's look at a few older games that could help us pass the time this weekend.

The Witcher 2 - Xbox 360 Games with Gold

The Witcher 2 blew me away when I played through it. This game was an impulse buy, and I didn't have any expectations when going into it. The environments, character design, and game depth enthralled me. I played so much of this game that it almost became an addiction. Now this amazing game can be downloaded for free with the GwG program on the Xbox 360. Even if you don't have a Gold membership, you should be able to find a cheap copy for your platform of choice.

The Crew - Steam

The Crew already made the Round-up back when it was a new release. However, right now it's on sale for Steam users. It can be picked up for $40. For those of us that enjoy a racing game or driving from coast to coast, this game offers just that. The graphics for this game look amazing, and it's a great price for a game that has only been out a short time.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition - Wii U $5.99

Guacamelee is an amazing Metroidvania-style game. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to run around as a Luchador, here is your chance to find out - well sort of. This game doesn't really put you in the first person perspective of a Luchador, but it's still fun and requires plenty of exploration.

This list contains two games that rank among my favorites plays, and I wouldn't mind playing through them again - if I didn't have such a massive backlog of games to get through. As we approach new releases for this year, my backlog will grow - and yours might too. So snag these games at a good price and put what time you can into them.

The Elder Scrolls Online Just Released on Steam https://www.gameskinny.com/o44ap/the-elder-scrolls-online-just-released-on-steam https://www.gameskinny.com/o44ap/the-elder-scrolls-online-just-released-on-steam Fri, 18 Jul 2014 19:08:34 -0400 Evan Lower

Bethesda Softworks released The Elder Scrolls Online to Steam on Thursday, and currently the game is half-price.

The beloved Elder Scrolls franchise has finally broken into the online universe with its first MMORPG installment, thanks to developer ZeniMax Online Studios, a first-time developing team contracted by Bethesda Softworks to work on the massive title.

The game features the largest map of any TES game before, featuring nearly the entire continent of Tamriel, and runs on what ZOS refers to as a "Megaserver," an in-house developed server technology that allows for smoother, more intuitive and adaptable online lobbies (for a much more in-depth explanation of the technology that my poor mind cannot comprehend, click here).

Despite a very lackluster beginning wrought with scandal and confusion, it seems by some accounts that the game is closer to what people expected of it.

Steam users have access to both editions, Standard and Imperial. The Standard Edition is pretty cut and dry, what you'd expect.

The Imperial Edition allows the player the opportunity to play as an Imperial soldier, which also allows for unique Imperial gear and crafting opportunities, as well as your very own horse (which according to reports are entirely too expensive in-game). You also have access to Rings of Mara and an adorable Mudcrab vanity pet.

So cute!

For those interested, the Imperial Edition is available for $47.99 (a 40% discount!), or you can purchase it as an expansion for $19.99. The discounted price mentioned above, as well as the Standard Edition's price of $29.99, are set to end on the 21st.

And worry not, console gamers. Despite the announced delay until late 2014 or early 2015 (something it seems is the status quo anymore), ESO will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 eventually. So just relax.

I know I'll be enjoying some time playing Pharoah & Cleopatra!

What is this GOG?

GOG is a wonderful video game distribution website where you can get your favorite old-timey games for decent prices. Through the digital download method, you'll make an account on their site and purchase games to that account. From there you can download the games from the account to your computer. Couldn't be any simpler!

Saints Row IV Free Weekend and Sale on Steam https://www.gameskinny.com/yk1rz/saints-row-iv-free-weekend-and-sale-on-steam https://www.gameskinny.com/yk1rz/saints-row-iv-free-weekend-and-sale-on-steam Thu, 16 Jan 2014 18:58:47 -0500 Courtney Gamache

For this weekend, Saints Row IV will be on free-to-play and 50-60% off. Better thank the guys at Steam for this late holiday present, cause it's sure worth it.

What is Saints Row IV about?

Within this edition of Saints Row, the United States president must save the world from the alien overlord Zinyak. The game encompasses the open-world method, giving the gamers more things to do and much more exploration. You can either venture this game alone or play with a friend using co-op. There will be more customization within this epic finale, giving the players some customized weapons to use on the aliens of course.

So about that sale?

Saints Row IV itself normally costs a whopping $39.99 on Steam, but during this weekend, you can get it for the small amount of $19.99. The Saints Row Franchise pack is also on sale for 60% off, lowering it from $74.99 to $29.99. Hard to say no to those amazing numbers. Within the franchise pack you'll receive 21 items to enrich your gaming experience.

Keep in mind, you'll only have until Sunday, January 19th, 1 PM PST to play this game for free and get the sales. Better act fast!

Steam Begins Offering Week-Long Deals https://www.gameskinny.com/8rakj/steam-begins-offering-week-long-deals https://www.gameskinny.com/8rakj/steam-begins-offering-week-long-deals Tue, 12 Feb 2013 08:27:49 -0500 Ashley Shankle

Are you the type of person who only uses Steam to get games on the cheap? Do you log into the client or wander to the site everyday to check out the Daily Deal? If so, you've got something new to look forward to.

As of yesterday, Valve began its run of Week Long Deals. Now we have the Daily Deals, Weekend Deals, and Week Long Deals to keep an eye on -- not to mention the holiday sales when they come around. My wallet is in a constant state of dismay.

This week's deals are:

  • FlatOut (Bugbear Entertainment)
  • Steel Storm: Burning Retribution (Kot in Action Creative Artel)
  • Alpha Prime (Black Element)
  • Karateka (Liquid Entertainment)

These sales will run until Friday, on which the Weekend Deals will kick in. I have a serious weakness for Steam sales, so this is a mixed bag of news for me. My backlog has reached 200 and counting. I think I have a problem.
