Running from  Friday, April 15 through to Saturday, April 16, Overwatch will be having its second and final beta test weekend across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The aim of this weekend is to perform a stress test, so there will be plenty of opportunities to get in on the test. It is invite-only, so make sure you are opted-in!

Accounts will start to get flagged for testing on Thursday, April 14. If this happens to you, make sure you download and install the client as soon as possible so that you are ready for when the stress test begins the following day. Make sure you look out for either an email (although they can sometimes be a bit slow to come through) or an install button on your Battle.net app.

For this weekend, players will have access to all 21 heroes and the maps for Hanamura, Route 66, and Nepal. Some features, such as Competitive Play, will not be available during the stress test. Be ready to give feedback on how the game is performing and other technical issues. As it is a stress test, Blizzard is looking to push their systems to the limit, so there may be some performance issues -- but that's what they are looking for.

The full beta test weekend FAQ can be found here, where you can also find links to the closed feedback forums and support.

Overwatch beta stress test weekend invites go out tomorrow! https://www.gameskinny.com/5rgly/overwatch-beta-stress-test-weekend-invites-go-out-tomorrow https://www.gameskinny.com/5rgly/overwatch-beta-stress-test-weekend-invites-go-out-tomorrow Wed, 18 Nov 2015 06:06:10 -0500 David Fisher

Big news for Overwatch fans! Blizzard Entertainment has just announced over Twitter that Overwatch will be receiving its first beta test weekend this Friday, November 20th. Since the objective of this weekend's beta is to test Overwatch's server hardware and technology, Blizzard will be sending out a massive wave of invites to players. However, these beta test invites will expire on Monday, November 23rd at 9:00 a.m.

Remember, getting a beta test weekend invite does not guarantee getting another invite down the road. If you get an invite, you had best make use of it!

According to the official Overwatch blog, invites will be sent out during scheduled maintenance on Thursday, November 19th. Once received, players can install the game immediately to prepare for the weekend. The invite will be sent directly to your registered Battle.net e-mail address; however, you should see the install button appear on your Battle.net client before then - as Blizzard admits the messages are somewhat slower in delivery.

During the beta test weekend, it should be noted that the map rotation will be limited. According to the blog post only Hanamura, King's Row, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar will be available for play. This is likely due to these maps having specific latency objectives, or Blizzard wants to give the best impressions of the game.

Weekly Weekend Round-Up: Dec 19th-21st https://www.gameskinny.com/3qxox/weekly-weekend-round-up-dec-19th-21st https://www.gameskinny.com/3qxox/weekly-weekend-round-up-dec-19th-21st Sun, 21 Dec 2014 06:15:59 -0500 Eric Nicolai

Another week has gone by and now we are approaching the end of the year. It seems strange to think that this year has gone by so fast, but even while we look back at the year, there is still a weekend ahead of us, and we will need to pass some time. As has been the case for the past couple weeks, new releases have been a bit light. There are old games and one new one on this list to take your weekend away.

Ryse:  Son of Rome

Although Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One lauch title, this game was amazing. It was actually the first game I played through on my X1, despite having many others. Due to the old nature of the game, it has seen some dramatic price drops and can be bought for a decent price. This is one of many old games to take a look into if you are looking to kill a weekend for a cheap buck.

Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy seemed to be a hit out of nowhere. This game is one of my favorite indie games from last gen. Super Meat Boy went on sale earlier this week for Steam users, which is why it has made mention on this list. Even if you are not a Steam user, this game is something special. If you find yourself playing this game over the weekend, remember to keep your cool, as it is sure to test your patience.

Guilty Gear Xrd

This  newest installment of Guilty Gear is now here. This is available for PS4 and PS3 and is a full retail launch priced at the normal price. Guilty Gear Xrd is a fighting game, so it is a very niche game. Unless you are a fan of fighting games, this could only keep you entertained for a couple of hours. But looking at a fighting game for what it is, this game could have you entertained for hours (or months), depending on your preference.

I may end up booting up Super Meat Boy, as I do every now and again, but other than that I will not be joining in on the others. I will be putting some more time into Mordor and Destiny. What games will you be playing this weekend? Comment below.

Another week of work is behind us. That means it's time for another weekend of relaxation and gaming. This week has some highly anticipated games, none of which I will be playing. However, there is bound to be something on this list to meet most people's tastes.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

This title from Warner Brothers is sure to have enough content to fill a weekend. These games, although repetitive, never seem dull. They give the player enough to stay busy for a good amount of time. LEGO isn't really my forte, but this game surely has a spot on a lot of gamers' watchlists.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo MCC is another massive launch. This game was well worth the wait for most players that have an Xbox One. They can finally play on the Halo 2 servers again. They can also relive those awesome sticky grenade kills of all the Halo series, both online and off.

Assassin's Creed: Unity Rogue

Both these games are already a huge success. The Assassin's Creed series is able to put out a game every year. Each year they do it, players claim that the new game is the best in the series, and say it's so unreal how amazing the game is.

The games that launched this week are going to be more than enough to fill two days of down time. Personally, I am still going through Lords of The Fallen and loving every bit of it.

What will you be playing this weekend? Comment below!

Here Today, Gone in a Flash: Don't Miss Sony's Weekend Flash Sale! https://www.gameskinny.com/mw17t/here-today-gone-in-a-flash-dont-miss-sonys-weekend-flash-sale https://www.gameskinny.com/mw17t/here-today-gone-in-a-flash-dont-miss-sonys-weekend-flash-sale Sun, 13 Jul 2014 16:09:19 -0400 Travis McGee

It seems like it's the time for all the console companies to give gamers a ridiculous deal on their favorite games. Earlier this week we saw an amazing Humble Bundle featuring greats like Bioshock and XCOM, and Xbox's ultimate sale is ending tomorrow. It comes as no surprise, then, that Sony decided to have a weekend-long flash sale featuring over 20 games for $0.99 or less!

Sony's flash sale seems more geared towards older, classic games, but as an owner of a PS2 and a PSOne I couldn't dive fast enough for my wallet when I saw the games that defined my childhood could be mine again in a digital (unbreakable, unscratchable) format for less than a buck each. Here's a short list of just a few of the 20+ games that can be had for $0.99:

Harvest Moon: Back To Nature - $0.99

Legend of Dragoon - $0.99

Oddworld: Munch's Oddyssey HD - $0.99

Twisted Metal: Black - $0.99

Worms Revolution - $0.99

The flash sale lasts until noon tomorrow, July 14th Pacific Time. For a full list of the games available you can either log on to the Playstation Network through your console, or check out the PlayStation Blog post for all the details on the sale and the games. Don't miss this chance to own some of the best classic games ever made the PlayStation for less than $1 each!

Titanfall Free to Play for 48 Hours This Weekend https://www.gameskinny.com/hx86s/titanfall-free-to-play-for-48-hours-this-weekend https://www.gameskinny.com/hx86s/titanfall-free-to-play-for-48-hours-this-weekend Fri, 20 Jun 2014 06:54:05 -0400 Elijah Beahm

Free weekends is a concept most Steam users are familiar with. Games like Saints Row The Third, Payday 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and more have benefitted from giving a full taste of the action. For some gamers, it'll be what helps them decide whether to buy a game. For others, it's the only way they'll be able to play a game they otherwise couldn't afford. Any game on a free weekend gets a boost in new players for multiplayer, and often times the game is on sale to help further incentivize grabbing the game permanently.

Part of EA's Game Time Service

Today EA has announced that they're going to be providing a similar service called Game Time, starting with it's new flagship game Titanfall. The game will be fully playable for 48 hours over the weekend. Unlike it's previous experiment with the 48 hour trial of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, you will apprently not be in charge of when you start the trial. The game will simply be free during the weekend, and afterwards you'll have to pay to continue playing.

This all coincides with the new update coming out soon that will be adding two new modes to go along with the Expedition DLC that recently added three new maps. Marked for Death, (which will be very familiar and welcome to fans of Killlzone 3's Assassination mode), is a six versus six mode where one pilot on each team is marked for death. The other mode will be a new variant on Last Titan Standing with only two pilots for each side, named Wingman Last Titan Standing. Voiceover packs have also been announced. Similar to new voiceovers in DOTA 2, they'll replace your Titan's AI audio with a new voice.*

According to EA, the Game Time service will cover a variety of games and give different times for each. This could mean either that a game only has a smaller window of playtime or an even longer free to play span. Currently the service will only be for EA titles, but if they can sway gamers to give it a whirl and boost their profits, expect third party devs to be joining in.

With new features (and a number of bug and privacy improvements) do you think it's worth it to try Origin now? Is EA really listening to what fans want or is it merely placating it's audience? Let us know in the comments below.

*Being able to swap out the complaining Militia protagonists is still not possible.
