Chernobylite Set to Release on PC, PS4, Xbox One This Summer

Sci-fi survival horror Chernobylite gets a new gameplay trailer and a release window for PC and consoles.

Chernobylite is a sci-fi survival horror game being developed by The Farm 51 and is currently in Steam Early Access. However, the survival horror game has just received a new trailer and launch window for PC (1.0), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Chernobylite will release sometime in July, though a firm date hasn't yet been revealed.

Farm 51 said in the Steam news announcement for the patch that next-gen console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S should launch in 2021, but they did not provide a specific timeframe or window alongside the announcement.

The latest gameplay trailer (seen below) gives a deeper look into the dark and despairing world of a sci-fi Pripyat. It shows off some of the more major updates and changes being brought to the current version ahead of its full launch.

For starters, the entire storyline has been rewritten, and there are all new voiceovers for both the English and Russian language options. Localization has also been finished for all other major languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish.

The developers have also implemented an entirely new soundtrack, performed by award-winning composer Mikolaj Stroinski, with this update. Last but most importantly, there's new content for players to play, with the addition of a section of a new level called Heist, as well as some gameplay and quality of life tweaks.

Farm 51 said they have implemented "several thousand fixes and improvements" with this latest patch, and you can see a more thorough rundown here

Those who already own the Early Access version on PC can download the patch now. To celebrate the game's upcoming launch, Chernobylite will be on sale for 20% off the original price from now until April 30. Those who purchase Chernobylite in Early Access won't just get the game early, they'll also get all of its "future DLC content free of charge."
