What’s Famicom you may ask?

The Famicom is the Japanese version of the NES, which we are all pretty familiar with. The Famicom was one of the biggest breaks in video game technology. When created in the 1980s, the gaming system was also released with three games: Popeye, Donkey Kong, and Donkey Kong Jr.

Although the Famicom launched with those three arcade-style games, as the game system progressed to the West as the NES, more graphic games were created. In a bare seven years, Castlevania 3 and Super Mario Bros 3 were developed, with backgrounds and more attracting graphics.

In a set-up layout the few differences between the Famicom and NES are the controllers, which the Famicom featured a microphone and how the game cartridges were put in. The Famicom had a Nintendo 64 style, to the top loading while the NES had to be maneuvered inside the system.

Congratulations Famicom, and thank you for setting the bar on the NES.
