Reach for the Stars in Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions New Hero Mode

Create your own hero and compete with the best in Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions' Hero Mode.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions lets you do more than just play action-packed anime soccer. There's a mode in the arcade-style soccer game called New Hero Mode that lets you experience a story, build friendships with your favorite teammates, and compete to join the best of the best on the All-Star Team.

You'll start your journey by creating your avatar, and you'll also have to choose which school you'll join. There are three to pick between, each with their own special strengths and students to bond with:

  • Furano Middle School of Hokkaido
  • Toho Academy in Tokyo
  • Musashi Middle School

The first stage of the journey involves going up against Tsubasa Ozora's team from Nankatsu Middle School and then moving on to compete and earn your spot in Japan's All-Star League.

Along the way, you'll be making friends with your favorite teammates to increase your friend ranks and learn about their various backgrounds in the process.

Bandai Namco promises dramatic stories and different outcomes based on which school you choose. If you raise your friend rank above a certain level, you'll also get a chance to learn that friend's special skill and ability.

You can check out the full details on Bandai Namco Europe's website.

We still don't have a release date for Captain Tsubasa on Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champion news as it comes enters the pitch.

Josh Broadwell started gaming in the early '90s. But it wasn't until 2017 he started writing about them, after finishing two history degrees and deciding a career in academia just wasn't the best way forward. You'll usually find him playing RPGs, strategy games, or platformers, but he's up for almost anything that seems interesting.
