Mini games within video games really allow the player to become immersed in the computer generated experience. Its another way to satisfy the customer, giving more bang for your buck. Here are some titles that showcase some pretty kick ass miniature adventures.
Dead Ops- Call of Duty: Black Ops
What an extraordinarily little gem this is. Already packed to the brim with content, Black Ops decided to go above and beyond with including this unlock able arcade shooter extravaganza. Everything is so well executed and implemented, ranging from the twin stick controls, to the magnificent power ups and weapons. The game is so good that I wouldn't have hesitated to pick this up as a stand alone title.
Playable NES games- Animal Crossing.
Truly demonstrating quality and quantity, Animal Crossing got us to relive our most prehistoric gaming moments with these collectible cartridges inside the game. Fully recognizable and playable, these additions in the title were every bit as awesome as you remembered it. Excite Bike, Golf, Donkey Kong you name it, chances are they were here on this glorious adventure.
Sports- Grand Theft Auto V
Rockstar has successfully put players into atmosphere rich environments to play in for years. Their latest installment in the blockbuster franchise, Grand Theft Auto 5, sets the standard for extra content with its excellent array of sport titles.
Going from Tennis to Cycling, these sweat inducing thrill rides actually motivate me to get off my couch and experiencing these physical workouts. You know you have produced something magical when you've made golf appealing to the adrenaline carjacking demographic of your series.
Geometry Wars- Project Gotham Racing 2
Fast, hectic, unforgiving, all adjectives can describe this masterpiece known as Geometry Wars. Brilliant mechanics and loads of fun, this mini icon was found as a sort of time waster between races.
Boy did it sure make the minutes pass as I found myself hooked to this add on more then Gotham itself! The game resonated so well with players that it warranted a stand alone title, one of the most popular downloadable games on XBLA.
Western Escapades- Red Dead Redemption
Again, the fabulous folks at Rockstar included some pretty nifty meta games you can embark on while in your Western adventure. Do you wanna partake in a gutsy game of Five Finger Fillet? Or maybe waist away all your well earned cash playing cards? How about simply getting drunk of your a$$ in the town bar? You can do all that on the side, no problem, the sky's the limit when it comes to experiencing new actions and having rigorous amounts of fun attempting to accomplish them.
Truly a fantastic game complemented by equally grand mini quests to venture out and explore.
