Flappy Bird Alternatives to Satisfy Your Addiction

Flappy Bird may be gone, but it will not be forgotten. Here are some alternatives that will provide you the same addicting fix.

As you probably know by now, the popular app Flappy Bird got removed from the market by its creator Dong Nguyen. The reasons for Mr. Nguyen to remove the game from Google Play and iOS seem to stem from him wanting to have a simple life in his home country of Vietnam, rather than be the subject of fame (and scrutiny) on the internet. Whatever his reason, I hope Mr. Nguyen has a good, happy life and is successful in whatever he does next.

Flappy Doge

This game is a free, browser-based game that is very similar to Flappy Bird. It is pretty much a Flappy Bird clone that replaces the bird with a doge head that has a tail. It feels a bit easier to control, but it is still frustrating and will have you pulling out your hair in no time. You can play Flappy Doge now by going to its website.

Ironpants

This is practically Flappy Birds to its core, with the only differences being that you control a little super hero with a cape and the pipes are now wooden crates. The game is free for both Android and iOS but it does have a lot of ads which pop up and can become annoying. However, it is a good alternative and feels just as painful.

Flappy Bee

If you want the experience of Flappy Bird, but with more stylized art, then Flappy Bee is the way to go. Like Ironpants, Flappy Bee is available for iOS and Android. The only thing though is that the game is getting mixed user reviews, with one person saying, “Poorly executed game. The high score pop up menu comes up after EVERY play, which is poorly designed and hard to get out of, and the bee is difficult to control.”

Of course, nothing will replace the original Flappy Bird, but at least there are some alternatives if you are looking for them. If you are actively seeking a replacement, what alternatives to Flappy Bird have you found the best? Let us know in the comments!
