The 13 Best Glitches and Hacks in Fortnite Battle Royale (Updated)

Looking for ways to outwit your competition? These glitches and hacks for Fortnite's Battle Royale mode will give you the edge you need.

Editor's Note: This article was updated on 10/16/18 to reflect new glitches and hacks with Fortnite's latest update.

Fortnite's Battle Royale mode is riddled with glitches that open up some interesting opportunities for player exploits. It may not have as many now as it did when it first released since Epic has been patching as many as they can as fast as they can. But of course, there are always a few working glitches and bugs working at any given time -- some that you can use to your advantage.

But beware! While some of these exploitable glitches and hacks are safe to use, others can get you banned from Fortnite's Battle Royale. To keep that from happening, this list will show you only the best of the safest glitches you can benefit from. Almost all of these will give you an edge over the competition whether you're playing on PC, console, or mobile -- and put you in an advantageous position to win each and every match.

Under the Map Glitch (Retail Row)

There have been several locations in Fortnite prior to the patch that allowed you to go under the map. Since then there was no other way to get underground. But lately players have discovered a new way how to get under the map and stay unnoticed to other players.

  1. Go to the western edge of the Reatil Row where the road goes down a bit.
  2. Build a ramp across the road and push a shopping cart underneath it.
  3. Approach the cart until you see the Drive action.
  4. Activate it and the game will glitch sending you right under the map.

In this way you can shoot other players without them even knowing where the bullets came from.

Supply Drop Glitch

Did you know that you can prevent the supply crates drop from the sky? Well, you can do exactly that by catching and riding the supply drop in Fortnite.

In order to do this you need to be able to see the supply drop when it falls from the sky. You also need to be relatively close to it, since you need to be able to get to the supply crate as close as possible while it's still in the air.

When you see a supply drop in your zone, run up to it or build a ramp. Then, use your grappling hook and aim at the supply crate. If you've done evrything right, you will end up floating on top of the crate and it won't fall on the ground anymore.

Upside Down Glitch

One of the funniest glitches in Season 6 will make your character walk upside down on the map. This glitch is possible only in the Playground mode, so don't attempt it at any other mode, because it will simply not work there.

If you want your character to permanently get stuck in this weird position, then you need to drive an ATK vehicle alongside the cliff along the ocean shore. Then, you need to make sure that your ATK vehicle falls into the ocean and flips over when it reaches the water.

As a result your character will die, but it will respawn in a glitched way -- upside down. You will then be able to explore the map in this weird new way.

Infinite Port-a-Forts Glitch

Did you know that you could build an infinite number of Port-a-Fort towers by duplicating your Port-a-Forts using a simple glitch in Fortnite? In order to do this, you need to have a Port-a-Fort, and all of your inventory slots must be entirely filled up.

Then, put some item in front of you and be prepared to throw a Port-a-Fort. Now is the tricky part: You need to be able to throw a Port-a-Fort and at the same time press E (or the X/Square button) to swap the Port-a-Fort for an item that's in front of you.

What should happen is that the Port-a-Fort will initiate the tower building and swap with the item by dropping in front of you simultaneously. Using this new glitch, you will be able to build infinite Port-a-Forts in Fortnite.

Sliding Glitch

Everybody wants to move faster in Fortnite. Of course, you could use sprinting, but there is a glitch in the game that allows you to move even faster than that. You can do it with the help of the sliding glitch, which makes you move a lot faster than usual.

In order to do this, you need to equip and use a Homing Launcher. At the same time, you need to ask your friend to build a wall and stairs in front of you. At this point, you need to stop using the launcher, and the game will glitch -- it will make your character slide really fast.

You will slide like this for the rest of the match-up, so be prepared for that.

Launch Pad Glitch

This launch pad glitch in Fortnite can make you soar above the ground. First, you need to put a launch pad inside a tower and enclose it from all four sides very tightly. You also need to leave the tower open from the roof, as you'll be jumping in there from the top.

Then, you need to go outside the tower and build a ramp as high as possible in such a way that you could jump off it right through the opening in the tower and land on the launch pad.

Lastly, before jumping, you need to be holding an axe in your hands; this will result in a glitch that will allow you to soar above the ground.

Underwater Glitch

Don't try this at home, kids! But to be honest, it would be really difficult to replicate this fun glitch at home unless you have a very bad and laggy internet connection. That's exactly what happened to the author of the clip above.

He tried to build a tower on the water, but due to the bad internet connection, the game glitched and made him fall under the water ... for eternity. Some folks say that he's still falling.

Double Missile Glitch

This glitch is both awesome to witness and easy to execute. All you need to do is shoot two missiles one after the other in quick succession. It may take some training at first, but in the end, you'll find it very simple to do.

Just equip your first homing launcher and shoot a missile, and then immediately equip your second launcher and shoot another one right after. As a result, you will see double missiles flying in unison.

No Glider Glitch

Landing faster than other players can give you a serious advantage early in the game. Getting to the ground faster means that you will (most likely) be the first player to collect the best weapons, items, and resources. You'll also get to find the best position -- helping you pick off the opposition all the more easily.

So how do you land faster than other players? Well, you could withhold releasing your glider for as long as you can. But the problem is that when you land, the game will make you use the auto-parachute feature as soon as you approach the freefall limit.

Fortunately, some players have found a glitch in the game that has allowed them to bypass Fortnite's auto-parachute activation by landing as close to the shoreline as possible.

So, as soon as the airbus approaches the island, jump right off at the shoreline and try to direct your freefall above the water just an inch or so away from the land. The auto-parachute system doesn't work above the body of water, so you will freefall as long as you need.

Then, you can manually release the glider just above the ground and get to gathering all the best loot you can get your hands on.

Underground Glitch

Here's one of the more exciting, fully exploitable glitches in Fortnite's Battle Royale mode. It lets you move and shoot other players from under the grassy floor -- and be completely invisible and invincible to them while doing it.

All you need to do is go to the location on the map above (indicated with a red circle) and get inside a small hut that rests under the big tree. Get inside the hut and break the floor using your pickaxe.

When the floor is broken, you will see that the walls of the hut stretch down into the ground. Break those lower parts of the walls, too. You will then see an opening that will allow you to move underground and basically do whatever you want without getting detected.

Wallbreach Glitch

The Wallbreach glitch is similar to the Underground glitch, but this time, it's located under the bridge in the red circle indicated on the map above. All you need to do is go up the grassy stairs under the bridge, go to the top by the wall, and jump inside the breach there.

Again, you will be invisible to all other players, and you can shoot them without getting detected. However, some players have reported that it is possible to kill anybody hiding under the stairs using grenades.

But no matter how hard you try, even if you decide to use this location, you will eventually not be able to climb back up. This means that you will be trapped and the storm will kill you at some point anyway.

Hiding Under the Roof Hack

Here's a neat little Fortnite hack for all those players who are looking for other ways to avoid getting detected -- and attacking other players from an unexpected pinvolves It invovles building a roof and getting inside it.

But how do you do it if it has no entrance point? Well, that's what this hack is all about. All you need to do is press the "Edit" button and the roof will become transparent. You will then be able to get inside of it and use it as a perfect hiding spot.

Many players are using simple walls to protect themselves from enemy fire, but this trick with the roof is much more efficient because it protects you from all sides instead of just one.

Infinite Gliding Gltich

This Fortnite Battle Royale glitch will not give you any significant advantage in the game, but it is a fun one -- so you should try it out. It could be used, for example, when you've accidentally jumped off the airbus and want to relocate yourself to a new location.

So for this glitch to work, you need to spam the Space on PC (A on Xbox One and X on PlayStation 4) that would normally release the glider once you've jumped out of the plane. This normally releases the glider, but since you'll be spamming it really fast, the game will just glitch and let you glide above the map for as long as you need.
