Star Citizen has raised a few eyebrows in its absurdly successful headlong dash into being. A child of the crowdfunding era, it has become the center star of a rather jaded spectator sport – seeing which Kickstarter games succeed and which ones are bound to crash and burn from a combination of mismanagement, poor business plans, and very little understanding of how to deliver all that they promise.
With about $60-61 million (and counting) in funds poured into this game from backers and players alike, expectations continue to mount as Star Citizen‘s working capital begins to resemble that of a (modest) AAA title.
So far, development has given fans absolutely no reason to be disappointed. First-look demos and a playable alpha have only increased the hype – and this newest trailer shows a brand new aspect of the game that should appeal to more than just the space-sim lover at heart.
