The Order: 1886 Coming "Later in the Year"
Developer Ready at Dawn (made those awesome God of War entries on the PSP) is toiling away on The Order: 1886, one of the most anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives to date.
However, thus far, we've only had vague release estimates from unofficial sources. GameStop once gave it a placeholder date of June 1, 2014, for example, although recently, we've heard Ready at Dawn and Sony Santa Monica hint at a fall launch window.
The latest official word from Sony falls in line with the latter: According to OPM UK citing PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara, The Order: 1886 is coming "later in the year." This sort of implies a holiday release, which could be precisely what Sony needs. The PS4 is off to a great start but exclusive software always drives sales.
As for the developer, one could argue that Ready at Dawn isn't exactly battle-tested when it comes to big-budget productions for consoles. That being said, being a first-party studio, Sony undoubtedly gives them all the assistance they require. The Order is definitely shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and accomplished titles of the year.

That might give the game a chance to shine. If it's up against the likes of Uncharted 4 and Halo 5, well...
