Atlas Fallen Gameplay Trailer Highlights Traversal, Combat

A new trailer has dropped for Atlas Fallen, as well as new traversal and combat details.

Focus Entertainment has released the anticipated gameplay trailer for its desert-set action RPG Atlas Fallen. Featuring new looks at monsters, a taste of what is likely the big, bad boss, and various weapon forms, it provides a taste of what you can expect when the game drops on May 16, 2023

The trailer opens over an expansive desert world in ruin, lorded by a corrupt god. A massive, flying sand-dragon-like creature stalks the sky as some of the game’s traversal mechanics are shown, including the ability to surf along sand dunes and launch into the air using a Gauntlet.

Sven Hammer and Lila Grimaldi of Deck13 revealed in a recent PlayStation Blog the core of this world is Essence. Essence grants you magic through the Gauntlet by allowing you to manipulate Essence Grains, shown as the faint glow the Gauntlet emits and found throughout the world.

By using Essence Grains, you can cover a great amount of distance with Air Dash, rip apart magical seals to access forbidden areas with Crush, or lift ruins out of the sand with Raise.

There are large, elemental enemies and bosses to take down, including those made of ice and fire. Combat takes place on both the ground and in the air.

Also, revealed in the PS Blog post, the Dunecleaver has two forms, axe and hammer, both of which deal massive AoE damage either by cleaving enemies or pounding them into the sand from above.

The Sandwhip is the high mobility, sword whip weapon of the game, allowing you to get into and out of combat quickly.

Knuckledust turns into a pair of heavy hitting gauntlets perfect for dealing massive amounts of damage rapidly to a single target in melee.

Along with the trailer reveal is the announcement of pre-orders and the Signature Edition. Available through the Focus Entertainment Store as an exclusive, the Signature Edition is very limited, with only 100 copies being made. Coming with a numbered laminated wooden frame printed with exclusive artwork by James Lowe, the edition costs $99.99.

Along with the Signature Edition, all pre-orders will receive the Ruin Rising Pack DLC, which contains cosmetics and combat abilities. Stay tuned for more on Atlas Fallen as it becomes available.
