Titanfall set a new record for most E3 nominations in the history of the GCAs–the online multiplayer first-person shooter/Mech extravaganza received six nominations that include Best Show, Best Original Game, Best Console Game and Best Online Multiplayer, among others. The upcoming online shooter outdid games like Rage(2010), LittleBigPlanet (2008), Rock Band (2007) and Gears of War (2006), which held 5 nominations.
Additionally, the publisher breakdown shows that Electronic Arts has 16 nominations followed by Sony Computer Entertainment with 10 nominations and Ubisoft with 8 nominations.

These awards recognize the best games showcased every year at E3 and distinguish the games that will shape the future of interactive entertainment; to be eligible the games must be made playable to Game Critics judges at E3.
Games like The Division, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, The Witcher III and Super Smash Bros were not made playable to the Judges and therefore disqualified from award consideration.
