E3 2014 - Everything We Know About the Next Mass Effect

A roaring Krogon. New space. New heroes. New Mass Effect, everyone.

Today I clapped at three seconds of footage. That footage was of the new Mass Effect. Couple that with the information about heading to a region of space untouched by Shepard or the Normandy, you have the news that we're finally moving forward out of the shadow of the original trilogy.

If It Isn't Named Mass Effect 4...

Then was it is it called? Not Mass Effect: Origins, that is for sure.

So What Do We Know?

BioWare Montreal  is working on the upcoming Mass Effect game, but very little was shown about the game beyond some conceptual footage. It was revealed that the story will head to a brand new part of the galaxy, and that it will the player to form a new band of heroes to discover and explore new story that is different from Shepard’s adventure.

It’s disappointing that so little news is available for the new Mass Effect, but it’s good to hear that the project is still ongoing. We hope to hear more in the coming months.

As long as they don't overhype it everything will be fine. No one will have ridiculously high expectations that will be disappointed by the product. I love the Mass Effect series but I want them to try to hold themselves back from blasting everyone with new footage all at once. I want there to be a little surprised when I get my hands on the game.

If they want to really keep us gripped, but not throw a ton of content at us, then a novel or a series of novels would do the trick. What do you think?

The less news the better, else it will only get over-hyped...
