Phantom Pain's Quiet will be playable in Metal Gear Online with upcoming DLC

If Metal Gear Online is starting to lose its luster for you, there's still hope - Konami's releasing new DLC that includes a unique playable character - Quiet.

Metal Gear Online may just have a new reason for you to keep playing - DLC that includes Quiet as a new playable character.

Joining the ranks of current playable characters like Ocelot and Venom Snake, Quiet is the scantily-clad assassin introduced in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Despite the controversy caused by the character's inclusion and the flood of jokes made about the reason for her consistently-under-dressed state (she breathes through her skin), there are a lot of people who enjoyed the character and her concept, which likely prompted her inclusion in the upcoming DLC release.

Fans of the game can also look forward to three new maps and some "Appeal Action" packs in the new DLC. In addition to a new playable character, the upcoming DLC also includes three new maps and new "Appeal Action" packs.

There's currently no word on how much the DLC will cost, though the game's Twitter account announced that more details will be released on Monday.

While some are looking forward to the release of the new DLC, many fans still have complaints. With some still fuming over Kojima's separation from Konami and the cancellation of recent highly anticipated projects like Silent Hills, they've taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction in response to the announcement of the DLC:

@MetalGearOnline I hope it will be free. I won't pay 15 or more bucks for 3 reclycled maps from singleplayer.

@MetalGearOnline better be free cause i will never give my money to konami again

The Metal Gear Online Twitter account states that the DLC will be released in March, though no specific date was provided.

Are you still playing Metal Gear Online? If you are, what is it that keeps you coming back to it? If you aren't, what made you stop? If you're not currently playing, will having Quiet as a playable character draw you back into the game? Why or why not? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Oh no... They're adding Quiet to MGO? Time to quit! I don't want to play a game where literally everyone is going to be a bikini-clad woman with a sniper rifle. I just can't. I'm sorry... -.-

I'm expecting the same, really. It's one of the problems you see with online games that have so little variety in playable characters. Costume variety in the DLC might help, but they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with that business of Quiet wearing the bikini to "breathe."
