New Destiny 2 Trailer Gives Sneak Peek at Open Beta

From PvE modes to competitive multiplayer, the Destiny 2 Open Beta looks to be one hell of a ride.

Bungie, the development team behind the Halo and Destiny series, has just released a new trailer for the upcoming Destiny 2 open beta. In the minute-long trailer, Bungie shows players what they can expect from the beta, which begins July 18 for those who have pre-ordered the game and July 21 for those who haven’t.

In conjunction with letting players access the first mission of the game, Homecoming, which Bungie showcased at E3 2017, the open beta will also let players access the Inverted Spire Strike mission and the Crucible, a multiplayer battle arena that veteran Destiny players will know all too well.

The open beta Crucible PvP arena will let players go head to head in two gameplay modes, Control and Countdown. On top of that, players will also be able to test out Destiny 2’s new subclasses for the Titan, Warlock, and Hunter.

However, open beta character progression will not carry over to Destiny 2 when the game launches this fall. And, as with all betas, not everything in Destiny 2 will be accessible during the trial period, with some aspects of the game changing between now and release.

Players will receive a special in-game emblem for participating in the Destiny 2 open beta, which ends July 23.

Destiny 2 will release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, with a PC release coming a month later on October 24.
