Paragon by Epic Games announced, beta signups included

Unreal Tournament isn't Epic Games' only project.

This is a cause for PC Gamers to rejoice. Epic Games has (rather quietly, I might add) announced Paragon. We have next to no further information about the game – apart from its release date which for right now is early 2016.

Judging by ‘Twinblast’; a dual gun wielding playable ‘hero’ in a roster of others that will be released on a weekly basis until the 3rd of December 2015 (for now at least), we can speculate that this will be a team-based shooter, much like Overwatch.

All we know for now is there’s a website up and running with one video teasing one of the playable characters and information on how to sign up for the beta.  Something interesting to add is that you can choose what you fight for – be it glory, pride, fortune or infamy, as revealed by further exploration of Twinblast’s character profile.

These seem to give you some kind of damage and/or attribute bonuses if you claim them and play the character for the first time so…it’s definitely worth checking out if you are looking to jump into this game.

With Epic Games’ track record, Paragon is definitely something to be curious about. For now though, all we can do is wait until more information becomes available. At least the game itself doesn’t seem to be too far off!
