PAX AU brings more DA:I news for thirsty fans.

And, oh boy, am I excited now.

In addition to a few new concept art pieces – we’re still waiting for most of them to be uploaded, but here’s a cam shot to slake your thirst – some very interesting tidbits of infomation came out of the panel. As usual there was the emphasis on player choice, but what really intrigued me was Patrick Weekes’ (who was one of the better writers on the Mass Effect team) going on the record to say that they want to step away from binary good/evil choices, and present options that different players will pick based on their personal philosophies and/or the philosophies of their character.

Heady stuff.

And what’s going on here? Don’t tell me the Qunari can ride dragons.

Actually, do tell me that. It would be awesome.

Some other interesting points:

  • We’ll be visiting some very interesting environements. Swamps, deserts, mountains – oh my! I wonder whether there’ll be a return to Blackmarsh. Or, if they ever did rename it, Kittenmarsh.
  • The Dialogue Wheel is being revamped, so there’s less paraphrase and more indication of what’s actually going to come out of the Inquisitor’s mouth.
  • Exploration is a major feature. Stumbling upon treasure was one of the best parts of Baldur’s Gate, and it looks like Bioware’s returning to those roots again.
  • Choices will have consequences – and by that they mean, no random numbers will be needed to determine what ending you get. Take that, Galactic Readiness. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
  • They confirmed once again, that the E3 trailer was in fact created using in-game footage. Just let that sink in for a moment. This is going to be a stunning game.
