Disney Infinity 3.0 release date is official
The third iteration of Disney's mega-popular, mega-anticipated Disney Infinity 3.0 will release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U on August 30.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is the latest playset to release in the series, and this one is all about Star Wars. The starter pack launches with the game, two figurines and the chip reader base needed to put said figurines into the game. The two figurines available with the starter pack, Twilight of the Republic, are Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker.
Should fans pre-order the game at select retailers they can get their hands on a new Toy Box Takeover game piece for free. Toy Box Takeover is a new game mode in the Infinity Toy Box in which the villains do just that: takeover.
Additionally, if fans want a pretty awesome Boba Fett figure at launch, as well as another playset, they will only be able to do so via special editions of the game on Sony platforms. Keep in mind the figure and playset will be available on other platforms later; this is a timed exclusive.
More figures will be released post-launch and you can expect to see Obi-Wan Kanobi, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, and others. But Star Wars isn't the only new addition to the Toy Box with 3.0, Disney Pixar's new movie, Inside Out, will be getting 5 figures, and Avengers: Age of Ultron will get some love too.
Disney Infinity 3.0 adds a host of new features into the series, as well as addresses the problems fans had with 2.0. For everything on Disney Infinity 3.0 you can check out our huge rundown right here. And for all future news on Disney, Star Wars and all things gaming, keep it here on GameSkinny.
