New Details on Club Nintendo's Replacement

Nintendo's new loyalty program promises revamped Club Nintendo services and more!

Now that Club Nintendo has come to an end, many have been wondering what its replacement will look like. In their latest financial results briefing, Iwata revealed the first details about the new customer loyalty program--but it seems to be a bit more than that.

In addition to "an improved version of the current loyalty program," Nintendo is promising a service in which players use one ID to access multiple platforms (Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, NX, Mobile, and PC), bridging the gap between their dedicated gaming consoles and smart phone products.

Additionally, members will be able to log onto Nintendo's website and participate in "various services including the ones based on their past purchases and gameplay records." This could mean anything from a simple game recommendation system or achievements to something (hopefully) completely new.

Iwata admits that this information is all very vague, but hopes that it will hold us over for the time being, as they will announce more at a later date. He closes this segment with a promise that the service will focus on maximizing the enjoyment of multi-platform play amongst friends.

What are your thoughts and hopes for the new loyalty program? What do you hope it preserves from the Club Nintendo days? Let us know down below!
