Top 7 Games Xbox One Owners Should Look out for in 2016

1 of 9

The Xbox One, despite making a lot of great improvements to catch up to the PlayStation 4 is still lagging behind in terms of overall popularity. However, the console is on the right track with the number of exclusives its managed to secure and 2016 is shaping up to be a good year for Xbox fans everywhere.

Heck, I'm a PlayStation 4 owner, but some of the games the Xbox One has lined up for this year is making me want to invest in one.

After all: we should all learn to get along, right lads? Why not both I always say.

For the sake of this list though, here are the top 7 Xbox One exclusives to get excited for in 2016. Some of these will be available on PC as well but the name of the game is 'console exclusivity'.

    Hey Shox,

I noticed your article is the only one on GS so far that really mentions Sea of Thieves. As an old pirate salt, I have been giving the game a looksee. Do you know anything else about it - beyond the couple of videos on Youtube?

I'm wondering if it's something former Pirates Online players and other MMO pirates might want to keep an eye on.

I'm really curious too and have some high hopes for it. Unfortunately even their website is very very short on info
I think we just have to wait and find out.

Including scalebound in this list is silly. You said it yourself, your readers shouldn't look forward to it coming out in 2016. And including it because it's a "gem" is meaningless unless you've played the game.

Also, using a Halo image for a 2016 list is borderline disingenuous, unless you know something I don't. I'm sure you can find something else exciting to use!

The Halo images were never meant to mislead anyone. I simply chose them as an intro/outro since the Halo franchise has always been one of, if not the most well known franchise associated with the Xbox brand. Plus Cortana's expression felt fitting for the title of this article.

Of course including Scalebound is silly! I said it myself (though not literally). Despite it being pushed back all the way to 2017 it still has a strong foundation going for it because of the studio behind it. Plus the game play despite being in alpha is impressive.

It's something that fans of Platinum Games can appreciate and I'm sure, many Xbox One owners are happy to know, is a console exclusive.
