In an interview with PC Gamer, Rainbow Six Siege level designer Benoit Deschamps confirmed it will launch with 11 maps, after narrowing down the best choices from a pool of 50.

As for now yes, there are 11 maps. But we have more planned because we’re already working on more content for players after launch.

Rainbow Six Siege is the newest Rainbow Six game since Vegas 2, if you don’t count the iOS game Shadow Vanguard. In Siege, the elite team is now lead by a person only known as Six. This person wrangles the team together to go up against a menacing faction known as The White Masks.

Siege was originally going to come out this October but was pushed back to December with a beta scheduled to release on September 24th. With hopes riding high, get ready to load your gun and fire because Rainbow Six Siege launches on December 1st for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
