Halo Infinite Could Turn Into Xbox Series X Exclusive

343 Industries is reportedly having issues getting Halo Infinite on Xbox One.

Following Halo Infinite‘s recent delay, new information from Xbox leaker and ResetERA user Sponger suggests Halo Infinite‘s development might be in more trouble than developer 343 Industries has let on.

According to Sponger, whose comments were reprinted on Video Games Chronicle, Halo Infinite performs poorly on Xbox One S.

[The] current version of Halo Infinite on Xbox One S is nowhere near 1080p (even lower than 900p) and is having serious asset loading issues (much worse that you have seen on PC demo).

While 343 is working on a number of solutions to the problem, including processing and how assets load, Sponger says Microsoft might delay Halo Infinite to 2022 or later and no longer release it on Xbox One.

Sponger said “… they [343] are convinced that they need to make best Halo game ever.”

Interviews with 343 that went live after Halo Infinite‘s big gameplay reveal in July certainly point to the most ambitious Halo yet. The Halo Ring is the biggest in the series, and it’s stuffed full of secrets and upgrades to help encourage exploration.

Halo Infinite is also supposed to be a bridge in the franchise. According to 343 in the same interview, it closes the Master Chief and Cortana saga, while acting as a launch point for Halo newcomers unfamiliar with the series’ lore.
