Amanita Design, creators of the award-winning puzzle game Machinarium, released their latest game, Samorost 3, today. It is a loose continuation of their previous games Samorost (2003) and Samorost 2 (2005). The game follows a curious space gnome who uses the magical powers of a mysterious flute to travel through the cosmos in search of its origins.

This point-and-click adventure is full of intricate puzzles to solve and lush artwork coupled, with an abstract yet atmospheric soundtrack composed by inventive musician Floex. Each of the nine worlds you must visit have their own unique ecosystem and beings, as well as lots of challenges, achievements and surprises.

Samorost 3 is out now for $19.99 (£14.99), and is available on PC and MAC through Steam, the Mac App Store, and the game’s official website. The developer has also released a special Cosmic Edition which contains the full game, the 90-minute long original soundtrack, and a 170-page digital art book featuring design drawings from creator Jakub Dvorský. This is available for $24.99 (£18.38). The studio hopes to release the game onto iOS and Android devices later this year.
