Zelda: Ocarina of Time hits Wii U Virtual Console in Europe, US to come

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time finally hits the European Wii U virtual console July 2nd. Will it debut in North America?

This long-time classic Zelda game, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is finally hitting the virtual Wii U console in Europe, and likely North America soon after.

“This is the European version of the game with corrected aspect ratio” - GoNintendo

This new addition to the Nintendo eShop will become accessible in Europe on Thursday July 2nd, for the price of £8.99/€9.99. There will be a discount if the owner has it on the Wii and wishes to move it over to the Wii U as an upgrade.

Why the game is awesome

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time poses to be one of the best Zelda games when it comes to story, plot, soundtrack, and even the updated graphics. It will become a great addition to the virtual console service, bringing some more Zelda nostalgia to the Wii U.

I know I'm very excited for this addition, and will be getting it when it's available. While no official release date is available for the US edition, we anticipate it coming soon after the EU edition drops.

I love Ocarina of Time, and I have it on the N64, Gamecube, and 3DS... but I can't help but read this article and say "but why...?" I mean... the 3DS version is a great revamp of the original, and there's virtually no reason to get it on the Wii U vs keeping it on Wii (which had the best load times out of all OoT versions - aside from the N64 cart of course) or just getting the 3DS version.

I think it would be awesome to play it on my Nintendo Wii U. I have it on the N64, Gamecube and 3DS as well, but I guess being a fanatic as I am; I want them all. Plus, if it's playable on the game-pad that would be cool.
