Square Enix and Eidos Montreal, in conjunction with The Dark Mod and Amazon.com, are challenging the modding community to mod Thief: Gold with the chance to win some stunning loot. Modders have the task of creating a new level, or revamping an old one, in the original Thief game ahead of the franchise’s reboot later this month.
Entries will need be in video form showcasing footage of the mod or a playthrough. But you don’t even need to physically mod the game either, as you can also submit a “short and creative video of your mod idea” as a pitch.
The entries will be judged by Thief developers, community members, and the folks at The Dark Mod.
Eyes on the Prizes
The prizes lined up are golden. Two winners, one from the creating a mod category and one from pitching a mod category, will swipe a premium prize package which will include:
- A high-end gaming rig from AMD
- An all expenses paid trip to E3 2014
- Steam code for all Square Enix Games and their matching Prima strategy guides, such as Final Fantasy VII, Tomb Raider, and Hitman: Absolution.
- An Amazon Kindle DX with a bundle of game development books
