Legend of Zelda’s Fi Shown Playable in New Hyrule Warriors Trailer

A new trailer for Hyrule Warriors is released, showcasing Fi from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in action

Last week we found out that Fi from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a playable character in Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U action game, Hyrule Warriors. Now we have a trailer showcasing Fi in action.

The trailer, shown above, showcases Fi in action, taking on waves of enemies. She seems to go back and forth between using her dancing skills to transforming into a sword to dispatch of her enemies. Her style of combat seems to be great for taking on huge numbers of enemies all at once.

Fi joins what is a growing cast in Hyrule Warriors. She will battle alongside Link, Princess Zelda, Impa, Agitha, Lana the White Witch, and Midna. All of these characters seem to have distinct styles, and will be able to take on the world in their own ways.

Though Hyrule Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors spin-off, there has been a lot of work  to help give the game a flavor of its own.

I loved the Dynasty Warriors franchise for a while, but grew tired of the titles as they progressed. I also felt that there was a oversaturation of characters. Hyrule Warriors reminds me of the original Dynasty Warriors game that I played years ago, which is the main draw that I have towards this spinoff. I also love the universe of The Legend of Zelda, and having a fresh take on the series could be a nice breath of fresh air.

We have seen a nice set of playable characters so far, so I am wondering who will also be considered as playable characters. There are still a lot of characters from The Legend of Zelda series that can appear in Hyrule Warriors (Skull Kid would be nice), so Nintendo has options. I am sure we will probably hear more as Hyrule Warriors’ release approaches.

Hyrule Warriors will launch in Japan on August 14 for the Wii U. It follows in North America and Europe in September.
