Hyrule Warriors Will Receive Post-Launch Support, Koei Tecmo Has Announced

Koei Tecmo has announced that Hyrule Warriors will receive support after launch.

Today Hyrule Warriors released in Japan, and has over a month before it sees release elsewhere. Yet we are already getting word from Koei Tecmo about post-release support for the game.

Through their Twitter account, Koei Tecmo dropped some information on long-term support for Hyrule Warriors (you can see the original tweet here). In the tweet, they promise long-term updates and “large-scale mode expansion.” The tweet states (translated by Siliconera):

“[Here’s some] new information to commemorate the release. Hyrule Warriors is a festive Zelda title that was made with much effort. In order to have you folks enjoy it for longer, we’re currently planning long-term updates and a large-scale mode expansions. We’ve received a few bug reports, so we’ll be working on that as well.”

While there were no actual details as of yet, we can assume that “large-scale mode expansions” will be things such as characters, stages, weapons, and enemies. We will have to wait and see.

It is good to see that Hyrule Warriors will be receiving support after launch. I welcome patches and updates, as they can help improve the experience. I also would not mind a few new characters or stages after launch, as long as it does not get too out of control. The roster so far seems a little small, so more characters would be welcome. We will see in the future.

Hyrule Warriors releases on the Wii U on September 19 in Europe, and on September 26 in North America.
