Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival stealth game set in the Alien science-fiction horror universe. Gamers can take part in the popular franchise by playing as Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the main character from the films, Ellen Ripley. Amanda is attempting to discover what happened to her mother, but becomes waylaid in a space station with an enemy alien. The alien is faster than Amanda, stronger, and deadlier, so she must rely on skills and stealth to stay alive.

Gamers and critics alike were impressed with the style of gameplay; unlike other Alien games, stealth is paramount in Alien: Isolation, to the extent that the enemy alien is unkillable. Amanda will die in a few hits, so combat is really not in the equation. Instead, gamers need to hide and wait in lockers, under tables, or behind objects. What could inherently be a boring game is apparently not; Metacritic gave the PC version an 81, with multiple critics giving scores in the 90s.

However, some players struggled with the unkillable enemy, while others breezed through. Therefore, The Creative Assembly released a free patch that will automatically be added when you update the game. This update may get gamers excited for the potential sequel to the game, which the developers have been discussing.
