Riot Gives Party Rewards a Trial Run for League of Legends

For a limited time, Riot wants you to get rewarded when you play League of Legends with your buddies.

A game is always more fun when you play with friends – and for the next two weeks, if your game is League of Legends, it can be more rewarding, too.

Riot Games announced today that for the next two weeks, pre-made parties have a chance at winning bonus Influence Points (IP) based on the size of their party. While the amount of IP is still different depending upon which matchmaking queue a team happens to join (and there’s always a chance the team won’t gain any bonus), the larger the group, the larger the IP multiplier, as shown below:

  • Party of one – N/A
  • Party of two – 4x IP
  • Party of three – 6x IP
  • Party of four – 8x IP
  • Full team – 16x IP

After the two weeks have passed, Riot will disable this feature temporarily so that they can study the results that Party Rewards have in game.

Riot has a history of encouraging good sportsmanship and positive play while cracking down on negative behavior in League of Legends, and it could be that this is another step towards encouraging more cooperative team play.
