Today’s LOL is brought to you again by Black Ops 2. We promise that this will be the last time we use BlOps2 in a Mid-day LOL… this week. To be perfectly honest, the actual parts within the game are not funny by themselves, but the timing of their release makes it circumstantially hilarious.
If you have been watching American national news, then you are aware of General David Patraeus and his sex scandal. That in and of itself is not exactly funny. However, when Secretary of Defense Patraeus shows up on the runway of an aircraft carrier in BlOps2, you can’t help but laugh given current events. I guess it’s possible that by 2025 Patraeus could have gained enough credibility back to gain such a high public office, but after his forced resignation from the CIA, it’s highly unlikely.
Nice try, Activision. We appreciate your attempt to keep things relevant, but this time it burned you. Hey – at least you didn’t have Patraeus on as a consultant, or do the voice acting like Oliver North did.
