It has finally happened. Sega and Nintendo have made an agreement that Sonic the Hedgehog will only appear on Nintendo consoles and handhelds.

Iwata announced that Sonic the Hedgehog will only show up on Nintendo consoles, as well as Sonic: Lost World only coming to the Wii U and 3DS exclusively. If you are a Sony or Microsoft owner who loves Sonic, then you are going to either have to say good bye to your beloved hedgehog or pick up the Wii U or 3DS.

This is an understandable, yet still unbelievable move. Sonic and Mario have shown up together in games already, but the fact that they belong exclusively to the same consoles is just mind blowing to me.

As a veteran of the Genesis vs. SNES war, I have to say that it feels so good to have picked the winning side. Not only did we win the console war, but we have also annexed some of your territory with this Sonic thing. Oh God, when will the bloodshed end?
