King of Fighters XIV director Yasuyuki Oda wants to create a new Mark of the Wolves too

Yasuyuki Oda, director of King of Fighters XIV wants to give fans a sequel for Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves.

At a recent tournament, King of Fighters XIV director, Yasuyuki Oda paid a visit to show support for the community and comment on the titles.  One of those titles was Garou: Mark of the Wolves (released as Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves in the West). Oda mused on the fact that fans may be wondering about a sequel.

Jokingly he answered:

“I’m going to do something about it before I die, so please keep on supporting us.”

Mark of the Wolves (MOW) was developed and released by SNK Playmore in 1999 for arcades and then for the Dreamcast in 2001. Among the Fatal Fury series, MOW is considered by fans and critics to be the best title. The game featured a cast of new colorful characters (such as Rock Howard) and highly technical gameplay.

It should be noted that Oda was a key member of the development team behind MOW. So, his sentiment to create a sequel is certainly promising for fans.

SNK Playmore and Oda as of now are solely focused on releasing the new King of Fighters XIV this year but — let’s hope a MOW sequel is next.
