Neverwinter – Letting Friends Play Table Top D&D by Distance

Extend Neverwinter and friend time by creating with the Foundry.

Both on and off the TV screen, I’m a gamer. Just as much as I enjoy the views of a great game at my computer, I also enjoy the social aspect of sitting around the table with friends and rolling the dice. Gaming groups are hard to keep together though. Life happens and people move to various places. It’s a sad fact, but a fact of life we gamers must face. However games sometimes just aren’t much fun without friends.

Our group has spread to at least four states now. We’ve tried various ways of gaming, including Skype and other video conferencing services, but in the end, it was very difficult to run with everyone having fun. Enter Neverwinter into the scene. We found it a great substitute to tabletop while our group was spread out so far.

Outside of the main storyline and quest, one of our favorite things to do is build stories using The Foundry to start our own stories with our characters. Instead of grinding just to hit end game, we take our time and develop our characters. Where have they come from? What choice would they make in this situation? For us, it’s all about the game.

Using Foundry, we create chapters of our own story. By doing so, we’re able to extend our game time past that which Cryptic has so far designed. By allowing player driven content, Cryptic ensures a more lasting experience in multiplayer gaming.
