Naughty Dog Posts 22 Jobs for June in Anticipation of Last of Us

Naughty Dog, the game developer for upcoming survival-thriller The Last of Us, announced 22 job openings for June.

After Zynga announced yesterday that it was laying off 520 employees, almost 20 percent of its total workforce, gamers will be happy to know that at least some places are still hiring.

Naughty Dog, the SOE-owned developer behind Uncharted, Jak and Daxter and upcoming survival-horror game The Last of Us, posted 22 job listings on its recruitment Twitter account. The positions range from character artists to gameplay programmers and combat designers.

“We’ll be tweeting out our June jobs today, so stay tuned! Plenty of positions in #gameart, #programming, #design and more. #thelastofus,” @NaughtyDogsJobs tweeted yesterday at 2:05 p.m.

With the announcement of next-generation consoles Xbox One and Playstation 4, Naughty Dog might be beefing up its staff in preparation for a renewed push into the future. As innovative gameplay and design is implemented, it will take more resources than ever to launch games onto both consoles’ established platforms. Of course, Naughty Dog games will likely only be released for the PS4, but the competition conflict between Microsoft and Sony should ramp up as the next generation is ushered in.

Here is Naughty Dog‘s released list of open positions. For more information on how to apply, visit the developer’s career page.
