CoD: Modern Warfare Goes Free-to-Play This Weekend for Warzone Players

Warzone players can join the fray with Modern Warfare multiplayer modes for a limited time.

Activision is giving fans even more incentive to play at home this weekend by giving Call of Duty: Warzone players full access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer modes this weekend. The free weekend starts April 3 at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST and runs through April 6 at the same time.

If you have the free-to-play Warzone, all you have to do is head to the Warzone Lobby, and navigate to the “Stocked Up, Locked Down” 24/7 Playlist. You’ll then get access to a number of Modern Warfare multiplayer modes across two different maps and can go head-to-head with Modern Warfare players as well.

The modes you can enjoy this weekend are:

  • Team Deathmatch — Get 70 kills
  • Kill Confirmed — Get your team to 70 points first
  • Domination — Capture the flag
  • Hardpoint — Capture the rotating object
  • Headquarters — Capture the HQ

These play out across two popular locations: Atlas Superstore (a 10-on-10 map), and the ever-popular Shoot House (6-on-6).

You can check out the full details on Activision’s website.

It’s not the only reason Call of Duty is in the news recently either. Modern Warfare 2’s full campaign is playable now, but only on one platform. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Call of Duty news as it deploys.
