V Rising is an upcoming open-world vampire survival game from Stunlock Studios. Players take the role of a vampire awoken after centuries of hibernation, starting from a weakened state and growing stronger to rebuild an vampire empire. It’s your task to take over the night once again.
V Rising features real-time combat where players compete against one another in PvP and PvE challenges for total domination on the road to becoming the next Dracula. To celebrate the game’s announcement, Stunlock Studios revealed a trailer, which can be seen below:
The trailer is a cinematic showing how the vampires once reigned supreme over humans until they were undone. Now, years later vampires are rising again to take back what was once theirs.
The game’s concept seems very interesting, and one that could potentially be a new form of power fantasy, standing alongside other recent releases such as Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars. Johan Llves, the marketing director at Stunlock Studios, said via a press release “[the team wants] to give players the full vampire experience of avoiding the burning sunlight, hunting for blood, and building their castle.”
Players will also be able to explore the open world of V Rising, either solo or co-op, building their castle and expanding their armies. V Rising is set to launch into beta on PC in 2021, which you can sign up for here. Stay tuned for more.
