Darkest Dungeon 2: Fan Favorite Vestal Returns in Suffer No Sin Update

The Vestal has been announced as returning to the party in Darkest Dungeon 2 with the Suffer No Sin update.

Indie game studio Red Hook Studios has announced the return of the Vestal to the party ranks of Darkest Dungeon 2 in the Suffer No Sin update with a Vestal teaser trailer. The update is available now for beta players on the Epic Games Store. The full release of Darkest Dungeon 2, the sequel to the hit Lovecraftian rouge-like game Darkest Dungeon, is slated for May 8 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The Vestal is categorized as a healing tank, something players greatly clamored for after the previous lack of a primary healing character. Originally seen as a villain in the early beta versions, she can be unlocked via the Altar of Hope. Once added to a party, her background story can be explored at Hero Shrines, including her flashback battle encounters.

Featuring stacking Conviction that allows her to smite enemies, the Vestal can hit the backline as well as heal party members. Her abilities kit includes Sanctuary, Judgement, Divine Grace, Mace Bash, and the new ability, Consecration of Light. This allows players to have a dedicated healer that can still deal damage when the party is healthy.

Along with the release of the Vestal, the Suffer No Sin update adds multiple game fixes, adjustments to hard-to-complete hero goals, and Hero, combat, and item changes. New items included are the Makeshift Javelin, Wilbur’s Flag, Bone Mallet, Pig Sticker, Locked Strongbox, and Spacious Strongbox. Whether these items need to be unlocked with flickers of hope was not stated.

There is still more time for improvements and updates before Darkest Dungeon 2 fully releases. Having the ability to unlock the Vestal is one that will greatly delight fans of the franchise as well as new players.
