Japan Gets New 64GB Memory Card for PS Vita

The Playstation Vita gets a much welcome memory upgrade on October 10, 2013.

We all love more space for our video games, and Sony has realized this. Sony announced that it will be upgrading the Playstation Vita’s Memory Card to a sweet 64GB, a generous increase from the current maximum 32GB.

Unfortunately for the Americas and Europe, it has only been confirmed for Japan, releasing on October 10, 2013. The card will be priced at 9,980 Yen or around $100, which is not too surprising.

In addition to the 64GB card, Sony plans on announcing the PS Vita TV as well as the new version of the PS Vita at about the same time–a surge of PS Vita information in one place.

The PS Vita has been moderately successful and will probably become even more popular with the increase of memory; with file sizes the way they are, it is all too easy to max out your storage on phones, iPods, computers, and consoles, so it can be a worthwhile investment depending on your gaming or music voracity.

My bet is we will see the new 64GB card on western shores soon as the PS Vita gains momentum.
