Street Fighter 6’s World Tour Mode Gets Extended Gameplay Demo

Capcom unveiled a ton of new details for Street Fighter 6's World Tour campaign mode, including how players will level up their fighters.

It’s been known since last year that Street Fighter 6 would feature an extensive single-player mode called “World Tour,” but we now have a better idea of how expansive this mode will be. Looking mighty similar to the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, World Tour will see you creating your own characters and exploring different regions of the world to level up fighters and learn new skills from classic characters. It’s definitely more than a simple arcade ladder.

Kicking off today’s Showcase stream, Capcom rolled a new sizzle reel for Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode and confirmed some new details.

First, the player character is completely customizable in nearly every aspect. You won’t be playing as Luke or any of the main roster fighters. Second, your character will have a rival named Bosch that seems to be exclusive to World Tour (though he might be unlockable).

Apart from story details, Capcom went over how World Tour is pretty similar to many open-world RPGs. You’ll take to the streets and explore the different regions of the Street Fighter universe from a more grounded level. As you travel, you’ll be able to battle random people on the streets, which will sometimes see you duking it out with robots and autonomous fridges.

As you make progress, you’ll run into what Capcom calls “Legendary” characters and learn new styles from them. The first one they showed off was Chun-Li, who was training with her pupil Li-Fen (a character previously hinted at in Street Fighter 3).

As well as all of the information about its campaign mode, Capcom detailed some of the features coming to Street Fighter 6’s online portion, dubbed Battle Hub. We already knew most of this, but you’ll be able to stage lobbies for friends to join you at their leisure. You can dedicate four cabinets to different game modes, including standard battle, extreme battle, and training. Up to 16 players can queue up, meaning you’ll be able to host big events with your friends.

Classic Arcade Mode will also be present for offline play and will unlock special illustrations once completed. Similar to Street Fighter 5, there will be specific ladders for each character giving them a more unique feeling.

Capcom also revealed that an SF6 demo is available on PlayStation now, and the developer unveiled the game’s Year 1 DLC. Street Fighter 6 will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on June 2, 2023.
