Namco Bandai Tries Making Ni No Kuni Wizard’s Edition Shortage Right

Namco Bandai are trying to make it up to Ni No Kuni fans finding themselves with no Wizard's Edition despite ordering it.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch has been selling pretty well, judging from the amount of buzz online and reports that the game is sold out in several stores. Some of the fans who ordered the limited Wizard’s Edition of the game found their orders cancelled shortly after release, and Namco Bandai is trying to make it right.

Thanks to an issue with Namco Bandai’s e-shop middleware, Digital River, the Wizard’s Edition of Ni No Kuni remained on sale despite selling out. Fans who ordered past the point where the game ran out of stock are those whose orders were cancelled or stuck in authorization.

Making Amends

It’s not easy to make something like this up to a fanbase starved for content (see: JRPG fans). Namco Bandai is going to be sending some goodies to those affected by this incident:

  • 400-page hardbound strategy guide
  • Gold Hurly Familiar code for use in-game
  • $20 in clubNamco credit

Is this enough? It’s nowhere near the amount of goodies that came with the actual Wizard’s Edition, but it’s better than nothing. Still, this mistake is hard to swallow considering a certain eBay store is selling Ni No Kuni Wizard’s Edition copies for $500 a piece.
