Microsoft Narrows Xbox Series X Release Date

Microsoft finally trims down the Xbox Series X release date window, but there's something missing.

We’ve known for a while Microsoft planned to release the Xbox Series X sometime during Holiday 2020. Now, following the Halo Infinite delay news, Microsoft narrowed that release window a bit, announcing that the Xbox Series X release date will be sometime in November.

The news comes from an Xbox Wire post, though The Verge is reporting that the release date could be in “the first week of November.”

Xbox Wire’s Editor-in-Chief Will Tuttle reiterated that Xbox Series X has plenty to offer when it launches — even without Master Chief’s big debut:

There will be thousands of games to play, spanning four generations, when Xbox Series X launches globally this November and over 100 optimized for Xbox Series X titles, built to take full advantage of our most powerful console, are planned for this year.

“More than 50” of those games are brand-new games like Yakuza 7 and Dirt 5, with others like The Medium having been developed specifically for the Xbox Series X. There’s also Game Pass, complete with xCloud merger, and backwards compatibility with all previous Xbox consoles.
