Smash Bros. and Mario Kart to Be Discussed in Nintendo Direct Before E3

Nintendo looking to hit a homerun before E3 even begins.

Nintendo may not be holding a large E3 event, but that does not mean they don’t have some big things in store. The Nintendo of America Twitter confirmed they would be giving some information on the next Mario Kart, 3D Mario, and Smash Bros. title via Nintendo Direct prior to E3.

Nintendo’s decision to speak on these console-selling titles at smaller events is nothing short of a testament to their new focus on smaller, more personal promotional efforts. The effectiveness of this approach has yet to be seen, but giving a look at the next Smash Bros. game before E3 – when the company theoretically has the most attention – is a bold move.

With the recent announcement that select retailers will have some of the unreleased Wii U titles being shown available to play during E3, one has to wonder if the three games mentioned in Nintendo of America’s tweet will be playable during this time. Even if not, pre-E3 and the company’s smaller event during E3 are sure to bring some surprises.
