The First "Red Dead" Game Shows Up On the PlayStation Store

Red Dead Revolver is now available on PS4

News comes by way of Eurogamer this evening that Rockstar's Red Dead Revolver is now available for purchase on Playstation 4. The game is priced at $14.99 and has fully up-rendered 1080p textures, as well as trophies, remote play, and share play capabilities.

This may not be the Red Dead game fans were hoping for, as the possibility of a sequel is long overdue -- recently a possible map was leaked for the sequel to Red Dead Redemption. Unfortunately, it looks like we will not be getting a Redemption remaster anytime soon, but the release of Revolver on PS4 could suggest a sequel in the near future.

Red Dead Revolver is a more arcade shooter style western game than it's open world sequel. The two games share no story connections or mechanics, as Revolver is a more shooting gallery, linear style of game. When it was released in 2004 it received moderately successful reviews and has a 73 on Metacritic.

Are you keeping your fingers crossed and hope Rockstar pulls the trigger on Red Dead Redemption 2?
