Harvard disqualified for cheating during Heroes of the Dorm tournament

Harvard player caught cheating in Heroes of the Storm tournament.

A team from Harvard University competing in the Heroes of the Dorm tournament, run by Blizzard Entertainment, has been disqualified for "violating several tournament rules".

A posting on the "Team Disqualification" board revealed that a member of Team Ambush had been caught sharing his Battle.net account with a higher-rated player who was not on the team's official roster for the tournament.

"We have zero tolerance for cheating in our tournaments. The rules are in place to ensure a fair playing field for all participants—when these rules are abused, they put the integrity of the competition at risk. The students found to be sharing their Battle.net accounts and the players with whom they were sharing will be banned indefinitely from participation in any future Tespa tournaments."

In addition to the disqualification, Blizzard Entertainment will be taking action against the owners of the Battle.net account.

Teams from UC Berkeley and Indiana-Purdue will now battle it out to see which one will go on to take Harvard's place in the next round.

Dang, that's unexpected. They deserve it.

Good luck to the other teams though!
