Pokemon Bank App In Need of a Bailout?
Ah I remember the days of old, only 150 Pokémon to collect. Today with Pokémon X/Y we have 718 Pokémon to collect. It is no wonder that Pokémon Trainers are excited about the Pokémon Bank and Poke Transporter apps, coming out for the 3DS/2DS. Today was the official release date, though apparently Nintendo is having a few issues:
"Due to the high traffic, players are having trouble setting up Nintendo Network IDs and downloading content in the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS," Nintendo said. "We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure everyone that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."
This has a few fans and avid Pokémon gamers, rather annoyed and upset. One of the reasons behind this is the promo that Nintendo was offering. Between December 27, 2013 and January 31, 2014 anyone who downloaded the 3DS/2DS app, would get a 30 day free trail. Considering that the yearly cost after that is $4.99. Currently Nintendo has not mentioned if they are planning to move the promo dates.
So what would $5 a year get you? The main focus behind the Pokémon Bank, was that you could store up to 3,000 Pokémon. The ability to transfer them from previous games was another feature that seemed to really get Pokémon Trainers excited. Though I remember the days, when you would transfer one to your buddy and then back to you, this seems a bit more streamlined.
The list of earlier Pokémon titles you can transfer to Pokémon X/Y are:
