GW2 Fashion: Like a Sir

Broomstick? -check Hotpants? -check Monocle? -check Ready to rumble, like a Sir!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Greetings!  The name’s Sabishii Kiba and when I’m not patrolling beautiful Divinity’s Reach, I spend the majority of my days and nights traveling across Tyria in pursuit of the perfect outfit.  I think I’ve found what I’m looking for and I hope you’ll agree!

As a Guardian, I’m wont to wearing heavy metal.  Do I blame myself?

Not really.

I mean, there’s a reason why I get (have) to wear plate armor.  IT’S BECAUSE I’M BUILT LIKE A FREAKIN MAC TRUCK.  I had aspirations to change that stigma.  There had to be proof out there in Tyria that Guardians can perform their duties while not being totally encumbered by big, bulky metal plates.  Did I envy the scholars and adventurers who were able to go traipsing into dungeons and caves in stately robes and leather jerkins?

Of course.

So I made a decision to dedicate myself to finding a non-metallic set of protective gear.  Lo and behold, the fruits of that labor:

Rangers!  Think ye that leather is for thyself only?  Not anymore.  Featuring leather as the main material with metal buckles, grommets, kneepads and shoulderpads, I was able to achieve what I consider a ‘noble’ or ‘aristocratic’ look.   The weapons, well let’s be honest here.  Just how effective do you think a leather sword can truly be?  Some things will never change.

But am I stomping invaders like a Sir?  You betcha. When they’re downed and waiting for the inevitable ground and pound I can only hope they catch the BLING coming off my monocle.  At least they know they were defeated by a well-dressed fashionista!

ARMOR

  • Monocle
  • Conqueror’s Mantle
  • Radiant Vambraces
  • Whisper’s Breastplate
  • Aetherblade Heavy Leggings
  • Aetherblade Heavy Boots

WEAPONS

  • Bolt
  • Flameseeker Prophesies
  • Foefire’s Essence
  • Broom(!!!)

Not only does it look good, but the custom set of armor outperforms everything else I’ve worn by allowing freedom of movement to slay those baddies!

Another thing to consider; I can ride this broom that I was so graciously gifted without fear of breaking it under the weight of all the metal I’m supposed to wear!  Remember the Lambo Murcielago?  Well these wings pop out when I ride in excess of 1km/hr.  AMAZING!

Lastly the dye setup in case curious minds want to know how I polished off this look.

DYES

  • Midnight Ice
  • Chocolate
  • Redemption
  • Mocha
  • Graphite
  • White
  • Ocean

In closing and all joking and poking aside, I (not Kiba) had a blast trying on different custom outfits and it is still my passion even to this minute (alt tabbed out of the pvp lockers).  My guildies always know when I’m in Barbie mode when they see me in the Mists trying on outfits for hours on end and this is my 7th iteration and the only non heavy metal set I’ve been able to come up with aside from T3 Norn.  I hope you guys had fun reading and congrats to all who find the courage to leave behind full sets skins to build their own custom set!
