Helldivers 2’s Unlimited Stratagem Glitch is a Mystery, but It’s Chaotically Fun

Sometimes glitches are just plain fun. For Helldivers 2, it's the unlimited stratagem bug.

The Helldivers 2 team has been hard at work, raising the server cap and sending out patches to address crashes. But yet another problem has reared its head with players loading in with infinite stratagems and broken guns. Though, I have to ask, is it really an issue? All I see is chaotic fun.

Helldivers 2 Infinite Stratagem Glitch Removes Cooldowns and Unleashes Chaos

Have you recently loaded into a mission unable to use your guns, a question mark floating on your back, and unlimited stratagems without cooldowns? Then you’ve encountered Helldivers 2‘s latest, but pretty fun, bug that players have discovered.

With zero cooldowns to keep you in check, you can spam orbital lasers or call in an endless amount of eagle strikes. This bug (or “feature”) can seemingly happen to anyone, no matter the difficulty or mission you’re running. It could also be isolated to you, not affecting anyone else on your squad. Just see the video below of a player unleashing 20 mortar sentries.

It definitely allows you to have some unbridled stratagem fun. But, if you encounter a player with this amount of unrestricted power, it’s no doubt a weird glitch to see. And you don’t have complete freedom. All bugs come with a price. One player found that they couldn’t use supply packs and others needed to pick up weapons to be able to use them. However, if that doesn’t deter you from wanting to experience this bug yourself, there might be a way to recreate it. It’s all in the name of democracy, right?

What Causes the Unlimited Stratagem Bug in Helldivers 2?

According to several players, you’ll load into a Helldivers 2 match with unlimited stratagem if you’re kicked for inactivity and reload back into the game. Though, it’s still a mystery why inactivity would lead to broken stratagems. Additionally, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll want this bug around. If you accidentally get hit with the glitch, it seems you can fix it by re-selecting your weapons in the armory or restarting your game.

Sometimes, game-breaking bugs are fun to see for a moment, and unlimited stratagems in Helldivers 2 fit the bill. Even so, it’s definitely an issue, and hopefully, it’ll be fixed in a future patch. The Helldivers 2 team has been diligently working on rolling out fixes, from UI problems to frequent disconnects, so this bug shouldn’t be a problem for long.
